If — and I don’t believe it is a big if — Crawford can’t come back at 100 percent, or he is traded, his loss would be even greater than Hossa’s. ( I do believe big hoss was a huge contributor to the team that was never even close to being replaced last year.) Like the loss of Hossa last year, I don’t see the hawks coming up with an adequate replacement for Crawford. If he is not playing and playing at 100 percent, next year is a repeat of this year

I don’t know if Vegas is as viable team for the next two or three years, but I believe the jets and Preds are. As a previous poster mentioned, the Hawks off season plans have to be to figure out how to not just get better, but how to get better than the jets and press over the next couple of years. If they can’t do that with what’s in hand and what they can pick up in trade or free agency and the draft, I believe they should go whole rebuild. I would rather see them suck for the next couple years with a plan and direction, than to just amble on as a mediocre but profitable team like this year’s.

Some bloggers please understand that in a rebuild Bowman has to keep the team competitive it he might loose his job. The defense without Keith is unimaginable. Stop trading him until the defense is better. At least trade deadline, when you can turn to kids and secretly do not care last 30 or do home games...there may be a work stoppage following year anyway. This is when Crawford might be traded too.

Luke Johnson his center so he must be at LW. Two big scoring games makes his playoff scoring look gaudy. What line does he play NHL? Opening NHL game he was on Kane line. They know he is talented. But he is NOT the big hard checking center who sits in front of net. If he is around net, it is moving in and around looking to pass or shoot, or just get open. Still he had the teach for a big man, looks to have a shooter mentality but also had good vision and makes great passes. On one sequence the Ade a pass and I thought it came equiped with a handle - the magic Johnson basketball touch (I recall his first NHL game, period one). Talented.

start by moving Hossa's contract, then anisimov, and if you have a taker for crawford, do it. with crawford's health related issues, at what point do you cut ties? i love the guy and think he's a brilliant goalie, but if the hawks can move the contract and get return for him, make the move now.
