Crawford was playing better than ever before he got hurt. He was carrying this team. As long as Crawford is healthy trading him would be almost as destructive to the Hawks as trading Panarin was.

I see what you did there.

Legal hard checks that cause aches and pains in the normal course aren’t the result of “hitting to hurt.” You could put the definition of “hurt” anywhere on the continuum I suppose but normally “hitting to hurt” goes beyond a legal hard hit that rattles an opponent.
- Z3Hawk

Okay.....we are getting closer. I will define “hit to hurt” as a legal hard hit that rattles an opponent as you specified. That’s the line I define as “hit to hurt”. Beyond that, I am in complete agreement with you and feel there is no place in the game for the intent to injury.

Probably 50 years or so from now when all human players have been eliminated from the game and they are playing with AI robots, then I say bring the “destroy” into the game.....sort of like watching an episode of Battle Bots.

It's only a matter of time when the Toews "back injury" excuses run out and this Onnit crap gets exposed.

I can't believe the Hawks training staff is ok with that stuff

Looking back at the hocks draft years, it seems your lucky if you can get more than 1 nhler in a draft.

Again, FWIW, Eklund is reporting that the Isles are looking at Crawford and Raanta (I'm guessing that's either/or, not both) as a way to leverage Tavares to re-sign.

If Crawford, I would definitely ask for at least one of their #1 draft picks this summer.

Lee would be a dream and Bailey would be a great 2/3C option (defensively sound and has ramped up his offense the past two seasons) as part of a return but I would imagine Tavares would say "no thank you" if certain teammates are traded away.

Barzal is out of the question. Realistic options are guys like Nelson, Pulock, and even Leddy. Hickey and de Haan are UFAs so no trade needed.

- AEL_Fox

I am a Huge Crow fan but if the Islanders were to offer some nice pieces to hurry up the rebuild the Hawks would be silly not to at least listen.

I personally wouldn't trade Crawford either. He's a key part of a Blackhawk resurgence if the goal is to make that start next season. My previous post was just fantasy trading if Bowman is seriously considering a trade with the Islanders.
- AEL_Fox

Do you see the hawks contending for the cup in the next 3 years I don't are they better than Winnipeg Nashville st Louis Colorado no maybe on par with Minnesota. So If the hawks can get the 11th or 12th pick in this year's draft try and trade crow probably nix it try and trade kieth to get something for them while they still have value. Because in 2 or 3 years they will not have much value ala Detroit do not want to become them stuck in mediocrity. Kieth Florida or Toronto would make sense if he agrees to be traded. Just my opinion and thoughts just don't see this team becoming a cup contender in one offseason especially with bowman running the show last 3 years have not very good.

Question is whether the Hawks have any motivation to expose it given that two of their biggest stars - Keith and Toews - are paid athletes for the company.

I don't see it.

The Hawks don't do anything in a vacuum... so if they were to make this move it would signal subsequent moves to a A) a rebuild or B) a bigger plan to move Crow (for an obscene amount in their eyes to better the team now and for the future) with someone coming back or locked in on the backburner (like Darling, like I suggested a couple weeks ago).

Nice power move to drive toward the net and bump off the defender before beating the goalie. Hope that is an example of the type of game he could bring to the big club in the near future. I'm guessing at least one full year in Rockford first so he can round out his game, gain confidence, and build upon his strengths.

If there is any substance at all to this rumour it might come from the Islanders taking steps to show Tavares that the Islanders are serious moving forward.

Seeing that Carolina and its new management wanting win sooner than later and reading kinda in between the lines were not happy missing the playoffs and goaltending wasn't that stellar. If the hawks and crow do say make a trade with the islanders say for the 12th overall pick or some other package From you stated darling or another goalie move have to be in works before going ahead with the crawford trade. What would it take to get darling back would carolina settle for a 3rd or more needs to be added?

craw is not tradeable: 2/3 of the season missed with a presumed concussion

any team is crazy to trade for a player; esp a goalie who has that immediate history..

his trade value diminished: what are the hawks going to get a bag of pucks with some sticks and tape thrown in...

hawks are not going to give away a guy who has been their best player over the last 5 plus years...

they hope and need for the old craw to come back strong...

If — and I don’t believe it is a big if — Crawford can’t come back at 100 percent, or he is traded, his loss would be even greater than Hossa’s. ( I do believe big hoss was a huge contributor to the team that was never even close to being replaced last year.) Like the loss of Hossa last year, I don’t see the hawks coming up with an adequate replacement for Crawford. If he is not playing and playing at 100 percent, next year is a repeat of this year

I don’t know if Vegas is as viable team for the next two or three years, but I believe the jets and Preds are. As a previous poster mentioned, the Hawks off season plans have to be to figure out how to not just get better, but how to get better than the jets and press over the next couple of years. If they can’t do that with what’s in hand and what they can pick up in trade or free agency and the draft, I believe they should go whole rebuild. I would rather see them suck for the next couple years with a plan and direction, than to just amble on as a mediocre but profitable team like this year’s.
