Another gahd awful peformance by the Jets...

....so the embarrassment advances to the finals.

I can't be the only one completely disgusted and pissed-off by the Lost Wages "succcess".

Why?

They play the game the way it’s supposed to be plaid in 2018 - excellent goal tending, relentless forecheck, keep pressure off of the goalie, scoring from 9 players in the series - this is a good team who drafted well and prepared well.

Celebrate them....

I forgot to add that Patrick Kane was named MVP of the World Championship.

I would advocate using the 27th overall to upgrade the roster for next year. Debrincat had a good tourney and here’s hoping with consistent minutes Murphy can be a decent #4D. Schmaltz is hopefully pumping iron all summer to improve on his solid 50+ point season. Trade Hossa’s cap hit even if it costs you Sikura and sign John Moore or Calvin De Haan, draft Dobson or Wahlstrom, and maybe 2019/20 the Hawks can be a legit threat again. It’s hard to pick the Hawks as a playoff team next year if little roster change happens...and Crawford has to be healthy which is the biggest wild card.

Without a doubt. They will outwork and outskate TB/WSH and Vegas will destroy the Vegas bookies after paying out all those 400-1 Cup Win bets.

Love your positivity but no watching these playoffs teams hawks have a long way to go before being in the conversation of cup contender. A LOT has to happen in the next two years for the hawks to even get to the second round and beyond. Can it happen sure just look at Vegas or Boston, but hawks are short at least 1 or 2 centers top 6 forward and 2 solid dman one has to be a puck moving defense man who also can quarter back a power play from the point. Some of things will be address this offseason. Defense and Goaltending unsure of Crawford status up to this point in the year. I would draft a forward with the 8th overall pick use the 27th and one 3rd round picks to acquire a young d man. Sign moore or deHann I agree with that get couple nasty physical wingers and hope Towes seabrook and kieth can have bounce back years. Bowman is in charge to all this so we'll wait and see since him and Q are on the hot seat this year.

I don’t gamble - especially on what other people (or horses or dogs) do - but:

Assuming they’ve handled their book correctly, do the bookies care who wins? I think they’ve established their odds to even out the betting and taking the vig.

If VGK wins - everyone who bet on the other teams lose.

They’ve rigged the game....

Bowman has to draft an All Star player at #8 whether on D or Forward. Can’t afford to miss on the 1st Top 10 pick in a decade. You give Keith a competent Top 4 Dman to play with and he will bounce back. You’ve got to think Q will either start 88 with 19 or go to it sooner than last year. A lot of shrewd and savvy moves have to go right for them to improve and not remain stuck in the basement of the Central next year.

The house always wins, but even throughout the season Vegas had huge payouts for a Cup win. How many high rollers made a $1,000 bet or even $500 on Vegas at 400-1? They could be paying out millions if Vegas wins it all.

Yep, not Cap Circumvention at all

5.5 million Cap hit when he was making 8 or 9 million winning cups all gets "washed away" with "I'm retired due to Medical/Injury" BS

Shouldn't matter, should always be the risk in signing any player to a long term deal

Love to see the NHL stand up and call them out on this

*asterisks on your dumb ass comment. The Hossa contract was not illegal when it was signed stooopiid. It was called market inefficiency that the Blackhawks exploited.

Trade Hossa’s cap hit
Trade Anisimov for help on defense or cap space (prospect/picks)

That’s basically an extra $10mil in cap space to use on one or two of Stasny, John Moore, Calvin de Haan, Luca Sbisa, Grubauer, Bernier, Khudobin or Evander Kane.

Sign a couple gritty depth guys with an edge like Komarov or Brodziak and find out what the price to acquire Alex Tuch, Tom Wilson or a young Dman from Carolina might be.

I don’t think any of us will be able to predict Stan’s moves this year....much like last summer.

I would take Hughes and if he is not there,I would take Dobson.I also think that they will trade the 27th to Montreal for 2 2nd round picks

I like your thinking your right we have to believe bowma has a plan. We can only speculate what he might do don't know what other gm' s are willing to give up for what. I will say this after the cup finals are done activity with conversations and movement and rumors will run rampant. Should exciting first move should moving hossa contract free up more cap space then AA. But make sure ifAA is move that position is backfilled then go from there. Walhstom velno or big finn that can play rw/ center with the 8th pick.

Everything was hedged one way or another way back the minute Vegas looked like they might make the playoffs. By now the pros might even be net long Vegas.

Yeah but they don’t get 5.35 until the season starts so they don’t really have 12. That’s why its worth trading the 27th to get that hit off the books
- tyweb69

They get more actually. There is a 10% buffer until the start of the season. So why waste an asset to move something that is paperwork. Its bad asset management.

So glad you’re not a GM!! It’s hardly an asset. That pick won’t materialize for years, if ever, and that 5.35m could be put to great use.
- tyweb69

How? Like sign Tom Wilson? And if you don't think a draft pick is an asset, then I am glad you aren't the GM.

WHy not find a way to make it part of a hockey trade prehaps with Ottawa one defensemen for one of our players/ prospects and the hossa contract
- Abadseed

That's fine. I wouldn't attach a pick to move the contract. Sure it makes it more of a dance but the fact the Hawks can use that money doesn't change. Sure its becomes a bit more complicated but that's why Bowman makes the big bucks.
