Speaking of pussies, can they not get rid of Gardiner and sign Kane?
- bobbyisno1

i'm starting to open up to the idea of e.kane.

could cost us 6.5-7. and sj may just lock him up sooner rather than later.

Matthews at 15?

Marner at 12, Nylander at 10, Tavares at 20.

- Steven_Seagull

my fav is what you see from other fans

-marner, nylander, matthews are overrated

-toronto wont be able to afford those three players because they are all going to make $10M+

i guess those two points are compatible..

What about Jett Woo? Good size and skill.. If available at 25, should take him Although, I am hoping Bode Wilde falls to 25, that would bode well for the Leafs and it would be wild for the fans... A good puck mover and uses his size effectively and is an RHD.
- PatC80

I like Jett Woo....injury plagued year and dropped like a rock in the rankings this year. Has a mean streak and can hit. Maybe worth a flyer at 25.

So how do we acquire one? Are we going to have to trade Wee Willie?
- Hockey_Reverend

Find one through the draft or yes, trade Nylander and replace Nylander with a UFA like E. Kane or Tavares etc.

My favourite comment ever about Matthews was that he *only* had 63 points this year. Totally overrated. (Completely ignoring he only played 62 games. Lol)

he should be good for 80-90 next year if he's healthy and clicks on the pp

He'll be playing with Marner on the power play next year.
He breaks 100.

E. Kane would be an almost perfect LW to add. He's young, he's skilled, he can score goals, he plays physical, he can protect Matthews if need be. I'd give him 6.5 a year no problem and a 7 year deal brings him to 33. That's basically all of his prime years and his production should go up playing with Matthews and/or Marner. It also allows the Leafs to move Nylander for a #1 D without losing overall offense.

But you already lost overall offense by not re-signing Jvr.
So your math doesn't add up.
Also Nylander alone will not get a no.1 Defenseman.

Brown, Johnsson and Kapanen replace JVR if they can score 15-17 goals each.

Brown has scored 20 before. Johnsson has averaged 20 a year in 4 straight years in two different pro leagues (very good on the PP). Kapanen could score 15 on his speed alone.

It's okay, don't worry.
Tavares will score 40.

I have a hard time believing that if he leaves the Island he'll sign in Vegas.
If he leaves i think he'll want to come home.

You have a hard time believing he would go to the better team and make more money? More pressure, less money, less privacy on a worse team so he can be "home"?

That'd be an odd decision.

Yes, I have a hard time believing he would leave the familiarity of Long Island for Vegas.
And everybody wants to come home to family and friends, unless of course you don't have any.

That's what the off-season is for. And it also doesn't mean it's worth sacrificing money and a better chance to win.

Okay well then, when Fluery comes back down to earth and Toronto has Tavares, hypothetically , is Vegas really a better team?

Yes they are. They're proving it right now. And Fleury is a legit goalie, has been for a long time. He's not the only reason Vegas is succeeding.

He's having the best year of his career as are 5 or 6 other players, is that sustainable?

Only if it suits the argument.
