Kuhnhackl is fine as the worst skater on the team/13th forward at a 600k cap hit. However there is just no reason to give him north of 800k when you can sign a guy to vet minimum who would be just as effective.
I don't know why we have to have discussions about Tom K, his salary is effectively league min. If you want someone better than him, you have to pay, but I want the absolute min price tag on my 4th line. I think we should keep him as long as possible because he doesn't expect to be paid 1M like some 4th liners do.

Because he is an option to be resigned or let go. I assume in the coming days RW is gonna go over all of the Pens options. Why wouldn't a RFA-to-be be discussed?

Also if we resign all of our RFA, we’ll have 14 wingers on this team. Right now we have an overload so it makes sense to let Kuhnhackl go.

Because someone like Sprong isn't given a chance instead when he wouldn't be any more of a liability and has much higher offensive upside.

And the organization is getting their monies worth with him having spent extra time in the QMJHL and the AHL.

The thing is, Tom K and Sprong aren't competing for the same role. Sprong should be getting top-9 (preferably top-6) minutes. Kuhkahckl is a 4th line/13th forward. Jettisoning him and his near-league-minimum salary would have no impact on Sprong making the roster or not.
Edit: He should have spent both of those post-draft years in the QMJHL.

But it's in great remembrance of the man who gave us the best hockey fight in the last decade. Bonus points for anything that involved Darcy Tucker being punched the face.
Can't they just sign him to a 2 way deal? Obviously it would be ideal if he didnt have to suit up but having him as a 14th forward playing in WBS would be cool with me.

cant be lost that he had a 50% penalty shot/SO percentage as a penguin

I agree, I misspoke or mis emphasized. It should be talked about for about 15 minutes. But It shouldn't be important at all is what I mean. RW acts liek its a make or break move adn TK is the reason we lost. The 13th forward at league min is exactly what you looking for though. So why look elsewhere when you already have it in stock and monitarily our situation cannot get any better for that pos.

Nah, it's just content. I get that Kuhn isn't THAT important... but when most of your top 9/top 6 is already under contract, open roster spots is easily the best way to start conversations on improving the team. Like... Grabner.
Would you rather have Grabner or Kuhnackl? And why? Personally, without looking into it much yet, I THINK I'd rather pay Grabner 1m than Kuhn whatever. Grabner at least MIGHT score, even if it's based off high shooting percentages and empty nets.

I wouldn't want Grabner playing limited minutes on the 4th line making 3-4x what Kuhn will make.
