I thought Ragnarok was a lot of fun. Good use of Led Zeppelin. You ever hear of Led Zeppelin? Prob not. They were on records at one point. Those are the black circular things you see in black and white films and sometimes colored, standard and low definition recordings, also done before the early 2000's. Figured I'd try to explain some stuff to you.

I would say right now we have 6 skill players

Eichel
Reinhart
Risto
ROR
Mitts - hopefully
Dahlin - hopefully

If they do trade ROR, it better be for something more than the #11 pick in the draft and a prospect. We need more skill, not less.

No reason to put hopefully. They are both extremely talented.

I'd also add Guhle

Honest question: do you consider RoR a high skill player?

I'm not suggesting he isn't a good player, more that I consider him a high effort two way player, without high end skill. Kane was in a similar category to me. Great speed, etc., but not top end skill. Nylander is on the opposite end. He does have high level skill, but not much else right now.

If it sounds like a case to trade O'Reilly now when he has the most value, than so be it. When he's on his game, he's an excellent two-way center who's difficult to play against, but what's transpired in Buffalo the past two seasons really messed with his head and it may have been too much for him to overcome.

So this reads as a pretty clear endorsement of an O'Reilly trade, but how do you reconcile the last sentence with the fact that he's upped his PPG to .80 in Buffalo and had his second best season ever this year, while saying it's too much for him to overcome?

Yeah. He plays more than almost any other NHL forward, while taking 1 penalty this year, and he's top-15 in giveaway/takeaway ratio, consistent 20-goal scorer, can play in any situation.

Nylander hasn't touched any of that

Because he didn't really have a great season?

He had 61 points, played more than any forward should ever, ever play, broke the faceoff record, 1.7 GA/TA

3rd straight 20 goal season, took 1 penalty. Basically the only thing he didn't do was play goalie

Those are effort and discipline things. Even when I picture an RoR power play goal, it's just a solid shot on net, not a high end display of skill. It's not meant to diminish him (kind of the opposite really), just that his strengths aren't things I consider high skill.

I think both can be true. He is a good player with a lot of skill and brings a lot of value to a team. That said, by his own words he did not have a great year and it is probably time for a change of scenery.

Well he's getting crushed by the media there as well. If anyone can figure out how to reconcile his 1.7 takeaways to give aways while taking 1 penalty, and accusing him of not trying, I haven't heard it yet.

It just isn't possible to have that many takeaways with no penalties unless you're trying

23 forwards played more than him at EV, and all of them around and above him scored more than he did at EV.

He scored like Derek Stepan did this year. Middle of the road 2C.

He's a fine player, but didn't do anything special this year besides break a who cares record

How many played more than him overall? 5? 2? 1? Any?
