When he's the GM of the Islanders in 2 years, I'm going to love when he picks himself 1st overall.

about a week ago on the Scott and Patrick show on the NHL network they were reading tweets and one of them said "Enzo from Illinois says Toews for Price" and they both laughed.

Just out of curiosity what would Habs fans think of acquiring Bryan Little and if there is interest what would be a reasonable trade for him? As a Jets fan i love him and what he's done for the organization but Stastny seems to be a perfect fit for Winnipeg and I would think if there's any chance of re-signing him it would likely come at the expense of Little with his relatively new extension

If Bergevin trades for a 10 million dollar center that put up 50something points, I'm done with the team. Big cap hit for low production, when we already have highly overpaid Weber and Price on the books, will guarantee that the Canadiens will suck for a very long time.

Galchy is a 4.9M, so it will cost 5.6M to MTL if this trade happen... not so bad if you think the cap will be raise by more then 5M for next season.... and if PAcioretty get trade, it's another 4.5M that we can spend, Plekanec 6M...Hemsky 1M... and we have already around 8M that MB didn't use last year, do the math lol

8M + 4.9M + 4.5M + 6M + 1M + more then 5M for the cap raise = maybe more then 29.4M

anyone talk about Toews salary ? lol not a problem at all for us...

Why disagree? 3 cups, multiple gold medals, terrific 2 way player. Toews is pretty much the complete package

The problem is this team can't score and youre substracting Pacioretty and Galchenyuk and adding Toews for the same cap hit... Potential 60 goals to Toews' 15-20

Cups and gold medals are nice, but they're team achievements. He's a 2nd line player that's eclipsed 70pts exactly one time in his career. He's not a HOF-caliber player by any standard and he is most definitely not a "lock" to be a HOF'er.

Short term you're right but then locking up $30 million for Toews, price and Weber who all appear to be on the decline is very very poor management.

I don't think trade is about bringing Toews to Montreal as much as its about Bergevin keeping his job. Ownership didn't like how this season progressed, and is putting the heat on Bergevin to ice a winning team next year. You'd almost have to give up your 3rd overall pick in this years draft if you're Montreal though, and thats a start.
- CodyRyan511

The fact that Bergevin is still employed should show you how much ownership cares about icing a winning team imo. Probably wrong, and maybe ownership is just clueless instead. Subban is once again a Norris candidate and Weber barely played this year. K, go overpay for a $10.5m declining Toews.

If he manages to land Seguin, then amazing. I really can't understand why Dallas would trade one of the best centers in the league though, but then again Ottawa is considering trading Karlsson, so whatever.

and what about the 19M left ? he will spend it in trade or UFA... Svechnikov/Zadina ? MB have all the tools to really shift this team this summer... it start with the draft with 5 picks in the first 62 selections....maybe more if we get only pick in Pacioretty returns....

Right, true enough. Maybe some conditional poop in the event he signs with them.
