The Habs have lots of youth on the wing and look like Mete, Juulsen, and Reilly are in to stay. But yes, let’s not add a fantastic C to go without Weber and Price to show them the way. Let’s lose for a couple more seasons and hope the kids turn out 2-3 years from the draft day.

I just don’t see how that works when you have Carey Price at he age he is now unless the theory is trade everyone and tank for years (which does not assure success either).

I’m thinking Tavares or stastny will REQUIRE massive overpayment to come to MTL and the odds are 30-1 or more. Paying for Toews or Seguin would be an improvement that likely helps the entire team fall better into place.

How about they go get Jeff Carter instead of Toews? Much better option!

Perhaps they will. I’ll put that on the blog board to explore!

Only thing I'd be scared would be that he's been really good with Benn so I don't know if he played all year with him. I could see a Drouin-Seguin- (Zadina or Svechnikov) in a year or 2

Habs have a Benn too - problem solved!!!

I been saying it awhile, with Vilardi coming they might want to dump some salary for Doughty

I don't see why LA would want to trade him.

There's your problem.

Toews isn't a Fantastic C.

His production the last 5 years:
68
66
58
58
52

That's a steady pattern of decline since he turned 25. TWENTY FIVE!

also, about Seguin... teams don't trade point-per-game centers in the prime of their careers for whatever pile of poop Marc Bergevin can cobble together from his organization.

Ppg pace is always around 0.80 aside from last years 0.70. Still very valuable and Chicago has an off year. He should still see .80ppg production with Drouin/Pacioretty/Gallagher imo.
