Maybe.

Wouldn't be the worst thing around here.

Galchenyuk with 51 points despite the team being horrible and spending 1/4 of the season on the 4th line / CJ's doghouse.

And he showed more determination in his game as the season went along.

Things are looking up for him.

- Scabeh

Was he not, like -53? More a team stat last season, but still. We will have the same coach for a while as well. I would like to see him play as a center since we have no option outside Danault, but I don't know that it will happen.

If he didn't play a single game at centre this past season, don't expect to see him there next season. Unless he gets traded to a team that manages him better.

There are absolutely no numbers that can backup that claim....

So I guess it's just your feelings speaking. You might be right but I disagree at this point.

And Rychel wasn't buried, he never showed the required consistancy in his play to get a callup and when he did, he pretty much did nothing of it. It's more on him than his teams.

- Scabeh

There's no numbers that show Hudon is any better than he is either... Rychel certainly seemed rejuvenated when he joined the organization last year

ok well now you've chopped off like half of the team's forwards. they still have to ice 12 forwards. at least there is some upside/unknown with Hudon. i think we aready know everything we need to know about Daniel Carr and Michael McCarron.

Tavares, Pacioretty, Zadina, Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Drouin, Danault, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Plekanec, Rychel and Shaw... 12 F

Rychel always does this. Goes on a tear for a few games and then stops.

And yes, there are numbers that show Hudon is better, mostly his production at every level he's played at compared to Rychel's.

Injuries aside, Hudon is hands down the player with the most upside at the moment.

I think Montreal might look at a bigger trade but I could easily see a deal centered around Pacioretty for Brassard. Both on expiring contracts at similar points in their careers.

If you say so...

And at every level? You do know Rychel was a back to back 40 goal man in the OHL right?

good for him, he can be the next Corey Locke.

Hudon had similar points total while playing with worst teams in junior, still making Team Canada twice.

I think we're done arguing about this.

It's not an argument, it's a difference in opinion and really we don't have the stats to prove anything... I prefer Rychel over Hudon, you can think any way you like

Are we seriously arguing about who should be the 12-13th forward? Who cares about Hudon and Rychel, they are depth players at best...

yeah because god (frank)ing knows we wouldn't want to take away ice time from guys like Nicolas Deslauriers, Jacob de la Rose and Logan Shaw.
- DoubleDown

I like Deslauriers. The guy has to play every shift at 100% to be effective, but still...

Hopefully the new contract doesn't change that.
