If you truly think you are going to land a #1 Center, then I think any deal is going to have to include the #3 overall pick. Galenchuck and cap space are not going to make sense in a deal for Toews. Both of these teams have some big contracts that will tie their hands down the road. Webber & Price don't really need another giant contract to help them eat up the Habs future. Better I think to try to move Webber, Pacci and Price for a haul of good picks and prospects. Montreal is too thin to expect one big name to carry them for the next 4-5 years. |

Seguins numbers prove he can take any faceoff. I think Benn might take select faceoffs unless Seguin is kicked out. Seguin is over 53% in the dots - poisondhearts37
Oh, I don't doubt that he can take faceoffs. I believe what I was remembering was true a couple years ago when his faceoff skills were still developing. In order to maximize faceoff effectiveness, Benn would take left side draws while Seguin would take right side draws. |

Oh yeah for sure. Benn played Center for Dallas before Seguin showed up. |

Well at least throughout the year we'll have a false sense of hope of making the playoffs |

It's not the contract, I'd be thrilled if they signed Tavares to that same deal, it's the player... Toews is not the offensive C they need

Personally I would much rather have O'Reilly out of Buffalo who will likely give you more for your money. Why not see if a pacioretty for ROR is possible. Buffalo is deep at center and not wing, Habs are deep at wing and not center. See if you can make it happen somehow. |
