I don't blame them trading the first for Rick Nash, but that third rounder for Nick Holden was weird

Holden was a depth move for playoffs. He's fine as 7th defender. The rick Nash trade turned out to be pretty terrible.

three teams were rumored for Ryan McDonagh, Bruins, Leafs and Lightning

no coincidence that the team that pulled it off is still the one playing

Yeah... and the Lightning got someone along with McDonagh to replace Nemestnikov in their lineup. Bruins are ahead of the rebuild and giving up DeBrusk to rent McDonagh would have almost been as dumb as the Rick Nash trade.

Meh. They got a better third-rounder by trading Vatrano to FLA.

yeah, but they could have two 3rd rounders, now you have a blog where they are lamenting their lack of picks

McDonagh isn't a rental, but I agree keeping a young guy like DeBrusk was the better move looking forward anyway.

The Oilers are offering up their first , but that would cost you a ton . Krug plus might do it .

You get 1 more year, sure. The Bruins are very thin at wing, have depth in defense and somewhat at center in the prospect pool. I get none of those guys are McDonagh right now, but they have pretty much nothing at the wings. It not a position Sweeney should be dealing from.

Also no guarantee he would resign or the Bruins would've wanted to.

Holland loves old expensive guys. Krejci is just about old enough now, right?

Pretty sure Bruins needed to be concerned about the second half of the Backes contract the second they signed it.

Just keep JFK in the Eastern Conference so I can make lots of headshot jokes when they play #1 Diaper-Boii Tom Wilson and the Caps.

Yeah I loved Backes in St. Louis but that was always looking like it would end in a buyout the day the contract was signed

Bruins concerned about two things everyone immediately saw as an overpay the second they happened. Shocker.
