I sure hope you're wrong about this. Schmaltz needs to be a center with his speed and passing ability, plus this team has always lacked center depth. He also plays timid along the boards. Need him to toughen up to center spot.

I would love to be wrong about this. I'm just not sure he's built to add enough strength to hold up playing center. He played very well as a wing with Toews and Panik (neither one an elite goal scorer), so I think he would still be very productive with Saad and Toews. I would think he would make that line very dangerous with the other two creating a lot of space to make plays.

The Jets can be beat. But if Rhinne cost them this game, he will be gone come training camp. He has established a history of this.

The careless, risk taking and overconfident Jets is a prime upset by Vegas. If Rhinne sits I believe that pred's could best Vegas. But a goaltender without game action for so long for Nashville is bound to have leaky goals too. This will get in Rhinne'd head, but the back up (Saros ?)probably can get through it. It will be a mental and not all physical battle for Saros.

Nashville in future playoff games would have to overwhelm the Vegas most each play and that will not happen.

Maurice this playoff even this series has been outcoached.

Maurice has been chronicled more than once as being outcoached. Even in one game this series. Jets were better team but it took 7 gp and Rhinne timely flub to pave the way

Murphy is a top 4 D-man. However he is coached by the total imbeciles Q and Ulf. He can excel internationally on large ice surfaces and be named Captain and Assistant Captain in succeeding years but somehow not make then happy.

Except, they did bring Delia up for two games this year, and he didn't appear to be completely ready. Like someone else said, if Crow is healthy, which I hope he is, then Delia should stay in Rockford to get playing time. If Crow goes down...different story.

Also, if the Hawks don't plan on being true contenders next year, then maybe they keep Forsberg as the backup. You never know, he could just suddenly get it, and be a very capable goalie. And if they aren't going for it all, then why not see if he can still get better.

Lots has happened since. As idiotic as A and Ulf’s Defensive System was no goalie looked ready.

I watched pieces of the game last night. Delia was good, but at times he lost his net and at one point he was scrambling on his side. I think he still needs more work in refining his game. Also, the Hogs are playing excellent defense, which is masking some of Delia's deficiencies, in my opinion of course.

Hey Enzo...still have the Bolts they were my preseason pick. While its nice to see Vegas make a run - the league really handed them everything with their 'expansion' draft.

Meanwhile Blackhawk Nation is happy this morning with the Preds choking last night at home. But take a look at both the Preds and the Jets - Hawks have a ways to go - both teams are big, physical and have a ton of speed.

Hats off to Chevy he's done a nice job building the Jets up.

I've said before on the blog, Murphy does better when he remembers he's a defenseman not a forward. One terrible habit he has is to skate forward instead of backward in 50 50 situations. He is undisciplined, first step very slow and struggles with taking angles away when beat.

He's like a corner back in the NFL as soon as they stop back pedaling and running forward more times than not they get burned.

Morrissey with a 2 goal lead last night skated forward on a 50 50 puck lost than took a 2 minute penalty because he knew he was toast. That play reminded me of Murphy and most every other dman on the Hawks team this year

His skating is fine. You don’t survive internationally if you can’t skate. You certainly don’t get named Captain and Assistant Captain in succeeding years if you can’t skate. He would have been Captain again if Kane was not there. Also you don’t get drafted high or make the NHL as a very young D-Man either, if you can’t skate. This is true regardless of what NHL team is involved.

Q and Ulf’s ludicrous Defensive “System” destroyed everyone. Forsling who is a great skater was destroyed. Also Bowman and his hockey staff are not morons. In tapping the Coyotes’ line-up not being able to skate would have been a huge red flag. Don’t confuse poor coaching with the D-Men being poor - see: Kempny. Also are you under some delusion that the Vegas D-Man are all magnificent? I’ll fill you in - they’re not, but their Coach certainly is.
