Lowered his shoulder, projected himself upwards and left his feet, head being the primary point of contact. Guessing he's going to be gone for a game.

3 games is my guess......but not enough. the league really needs to make a statement. they need to get rid of any / all head shots. player should have to sit as long as the player is out.

Ridiculous! Crouched a bit to try and make primary contact with his shoulder. The fact that the kid braces himself says I know I’m goibg to be hit. Wasn’t cheap or intentionally to the head. At that speed, if the head isn’t intentionally hit, then let the men play. Otherwise put a dress on them and we can watch ice capades with a skills competition. 👎🏻

It's actually a job interview for right shoulder to the head of the DoPS.

people dont pay playoff tix money to see guys like wilson. they want to see the talent on the ice. lets not forget that pronger (the prev DoPS) had to retire due to concussions.

Why do people stand and go crazy when there is a fight? Why do players make salaries we can only dream of? Oh, that’s right, it’s because it’s a CONTACT sport where things like this can happen! There is an inherent risk one takes for playing. If you don’t want to take that risk, take a desk job!!

Big hits is exactly what fans pay for, they pay to be entertained. Clean hit, stop whining, your guy saw him coming and got ready, unfortunately he took the worst of it.

Here's my issue. The NHL wants to eliminate elbows to the head. So Wilson tucked his in which, of course, means his shoulder is what he's hitting with. So if they now say he can't use his shoulder, then what is the future of checking in the NHL?

Seems to me like if you're bigger than the guy you're hitting it's going to perceived as a high hit. And if it's at full speed, and your momentum carries you forward, then it will be assumed that he jumped.

If a player is looking down at his skates, or looking backward for a pass, it's going to be called a blind-sided hit. Even though the first thing you learn at the peewee level is to always keep your head up.

So, honestly, what are players supposed to do?

Grow up already! Your mentality is exactly why the Flyers havent won a Stanley Cup in how many years now?

Just like Fraud Giroux's cheap hit on Letang, Wilson's dirty hit on Dumolin, and Wilson's dirtier hit on ZAR... AT some point it has to stop.

So what you are saying is that the only way to beat the Penguins is to beat them up. You cant beat them playing hockey, so we'll just incapacitate them. That's Long been the Flyers way, and now apparently it's the Capitals way. The real shame is that the NHL agrees with this philosophy; the officiating in this series has been the worst I have ever seen--and thats saying something because I've seen a lot of hockey. Even Ron Hoggarth would've gotten the calls right in this series....

As a non-Penguin and non-Capitals fan can I just ask: was the Wilson hit last night why the Penguins lost? No offense, but it was a fourth liner that was lost and I'm pretty sure some questionable decisions by your D led to the game being decided. Same could be said for the Dumolin hit I suppose. I mean, it's not as though those hits directly led to deciding goals. That's just my two cents.

Can everyone see now that the Pittsburgh Penguins are Bettman's pet team? How the hell is Wilson given a hearing for a check, when Malkin is allowed to knee a goalie who has the puck covered up?

When are the pictures of Crosby and Bettman going to be leaked?

Many factors in the loss. Wilson's hit and no penalty kinda threw the Pens game off for a 5 mins...in those 5 mins the Caps made it 2-2. Murray let in a softy for them to tie it 3-3. Wilson slew foot Maatta on the winning goal, should of been a penalty. Having said all of that the Pens still could of won that. Immediately before they made it 3-3 Malkin rang one of the inside post. That goes in its and its a 4-2 game and different story. Inches.

Kessel has been garbage in general.

Only the top line is scoring it seems. Need more secondary.

The biggest problem I'm seeing so far is that for the most part the Caps are playing and working like they want this more...which should be somewhat understandable.
