You see teams who play their best defense generally win playoff hockey. It all starts with defense. Which is why Bowman should consider moving up maybe only 1-2 spots with a conditonal trade - of course the player he wants is there. So just whom is that player? Is it possibly Dobson whom he might get at #8 anyway? Or the earlier rumors?

I know one thing, though. We must get more toughness grit throughout the line up. At least some degree of pushback from three dmen. Sound fair enough?

You do not want Rocky to turn to McDonough after the Caps' Wilson lays out Toews and maybe ends his career, So Rocky says how come none of our guys retaliated.

Stan cannot be so stubborn and ignorant. Else he will be out of a job

Both Martinsen and Samuelson kid could help. But need at least one top line and two dmen.

Can anyone explain at what level in this society is it acceptable for someone to take a club, grab it like a baseball bat and swing it into another person with the intention to inflict harm? If I did that one day at the golf course or had done it one day on the ball diamond or at a bar with a pool cue, I can guaranteed I'd be up on assault charges.r

Penalized during the game or not, a two_handed Sao g with a stick should be an immediate ejection and subsequent suspension. There is absolutely no reason for this and no excuse that can be accepted.

hey man its the nhl....ya know the fans luv that stuff...Ron Hexstall has a great big on his face...

absolutely suspendable and shoudl have been a 5 min major or at least a double minor...but the refs are complicit in all these felonies on ice because they refuse to enforce the rules and make the calls...and that my friends comes straight from the league

How the hell does SJ get to keep swapping players after an icing? They are ready to drop the puck and a player jumps on the ice. Call a delay of game on moves like that.

The NHL has a play-off approach confirmed by Brian Burke. The 3 games is a play-off suspension. In the regular season would much, much longer. I don’t agree with this. If you choose to headhunt in the play-offs the penalties should be as exist in the regular season. If that means the player misses lots or even all of the play-offs - good. Head-hunters make me sick - you are talking about a player’s head and brain. No place for it. Players are at risk for concussions just playing hockey - don’t need other players trying to dish out brain injuries. I support tough hockey players not dirty hockey players. I certainly never want Wilson or any other player like him in Chicago.

Gosh I just despise the uniforms of Vegas. Created on a dare - create the ugliest uniforms possible. The numbers are light grey which is just ridiculous. Scary to think of the designs thst lost.

yeah totally disagree with a double standard regular season/playoff suspension...

guys like wilson and marchand luv to push it and live on the edge see what they can get away with, they do it it very different ways; marchand is cowardly punk...wilson likes to be the intimidating missel on skates...who will take any opportunity to decapitate someone.

but until you hold the teams accountable; it will not change

I haven't heard much other than both sides have been in constant contact and the hold up might be due to what route Jokiharju wants to take next year if he doesn't make the Hawks.

Would it be best for him to be in Europe if he's not ready?

There are a few different options for him.

Thanks Justin. I'm not expecting to see him back in Portland next season.

Yes it's the Sharks night and I'm really impressed on how they've played tonight. I didn't think they had a prayer against the harder working Knights but I was wrong.

Cudos to GM Doug Wilson for adding some quality at the last 2 trade deadlines and putting this team together.
2 players that the Hawks were looking at at the deadlines are playing their hearts
out....Mikael Boedker and Evander Kane.
Really not sure if either would have helped the Hawks under Q's system of soft hockey until they get behind by 2 goals. Probably not.

Also trading for a top dman in Brett Burns several years ago with the Wild. It cost him a lot but it shows the importance of a number 1 defenceman.

You think Doug Wilson would leave San Jose next year to come back home and replace our guy ?? Not a chance.
Dreaming !!

Don't go to that perfect world where a goon like Malkin would know if he set foot on the ice against the Blackhawks, he would have a "considerably physically uncomfortable" time.

Well, I said go after Crosby. Since Pit likes to play dirty, play their game. You want to watch Sullivan cry like a girl, knock Crosby out for the Malkin cheapshot last season. All should learn from the champs, right?

15 years as SJS GM:

1 President's Trophy
1 Cup Final appearance
4 WCF appearances
Zero Stanley Cups

A nice middle of the road record - but really - why are you dreaming about him coming here?

Black players exercising their right to protest during the National Anthem - fire the sons of female doges.

But this is apparently OK.

President Trump - where is your outrage?

Because he has shown moves that makes me believe that he knows how to build a TEAM. He tried to lure Hjalmarsson from us several years ago, then settled for Anti Niemi when he was still pretty good. He's got an OLD CORE similar to the Hawks, yet he still has flexibility to make substantial moves at the deadline and keep these players for more than one year. His salary Cap has been in line that allowed him to make those moves.....etc....etc...etc....

Now if you're going to play the 3 Stanley Cup rings that Bowman and Quenneville have given us, that's your belief so stick to it. I on the other hand believe that these 2 managers of this team have gotten way too much credit. They both adopted this talented CORE and because of their poor decisions on Salaries, No Movement clauses, and a Country Club atmosphere, this team plays like they're on the golf course most games anyway. Patrick Kane and Corey Crawford excluded.

If Bowman and company had been able to obtain Boedker and Evender Kane at the last 2 trade deadlines, I'm betting that we Chicago Blackhawk fans would still be watching our team in round 2 and on of the playoffs....instead of youngsters like Ejdsell ,Martinsen, Duclair,Jurco, Bouma, Wingles, and Kampf. Many of which need much more development in the AHL. I won't even mention the Dmen because that's even more ridiculous of what these guys have built.

So obviously, because of their poor decisions over the past several years, the CORE has gotten older, slower, and less hungry to play 60 minutes a game, no less an 82 game schedule, and these young kids are expected to make the leap to carry this team.

Ultimately, in my opinion, I feel that Doug Wilson has done a much better job than Stan Bowman and would love to have him as our GM.....that's the unlikely dream.

While I would love Doug Wilson to return to Chicago due to his Blackhawks bona fides, his expertise looks to be in a long-term build. And I hope we are not there with:
Core players bounce back,
Young'uns continue to develop into quality NHL players, with one or two breaking out into stardom, and;
Quality drafting, a UFA signing or two and a trade bringing in NHL talent.

Back to Wilson, it wouldn't break my heart to see the Sharks cash in this year.
