Jets playing with fire the way they are handling the puck, Trouba already got away with a horrific turnover...

I think it came loose after he reached for it. I think he undid it. Should have been a DOG penalty.

So what contending teames would need AA at center something to explore. AA forsling 3rd and Nashville's 1st for hamilton maybe add rights to duclair
- Scott1977

You have to give this serious consideration
Tough to give up on Forsling before he develops. But you need to get a dman from somewhere.
And then although Wahlstrom is the better talent, IF Tazcuch is available we need his size, his nasty. His great wrist shot too. If i am Bowman i might trade one of my top young forwards but draft Wahlstrom. You guessed it, Scmaltz or DeBricat for a top six young nasty forward. Not ROR? No both DeBrjncat and Schmaltz hold too much offensuve untapped production to trade straight up for ROR. But you get the idea.

Ok what is forsling in the last 2 years hasn't made pass the half way mark of the nhl season is there potential yes there is a lot on the offense side but very questionable in his own zone postionally not very sound and seems to shy away from contact and yes it takes time to develop I get that personally I m not drinking the koolaid on him at best maybe a 5 in my opinion hope I'm proven wrong. If it means giving him up for Hamilton I do it even sikrua is included to of course something else would have to come back like ferland or a 2nd but to get a top 4 d man you have give something up. any other d man come to mind of the top of your head?

https://www.tsn.ca/off-se...-buffalo-sabres-1.1073301

TSN has started it's Off-Season Game Plan articles for each team starting with the Sabres. In prior years we'd have to wait until late May or even June to see the Hawks article, but they'll likely be featured within a week since they placed 25th in the overall league standings.

For the Sabres, they list as possible trade bait:
F: O'Reilly, Girgensons
D: Ristolainen, Beaulieu, Scandella
G: Lehner

O'Reilly and Ristolainen are attractive trade targets if the price is right. Beaulieu may be worth kicking the tires on.

The projected 2018-19 lineup for the Sabres replaces O'Reilly with Mittelstadt who I didn't realize made his NHL debut this season with 5 points (1-4) in 6 games. TSN also projects Buffalo to acquire Fabbri and Sheary to be their top 2 LWs. Not a Fabbri fan, but do hope he stays healthy next year and can finally play a full season.

Jokiharju. And they would push Brodie instead of Hamilton. Hamilton vis -a -vis media reports did not acclimate himself well with teamattes and his city in Boston and at first when he came to Calgary.

I believe you have the correct design for this trade (major components) but changing personnel is tricky; maybe not each of the players is moved whom you or i suggest.

Also If you are Calgary GM you aren't trading a dman for a late first unless my scouts really hound me to take so and so late first. Even then it is more about changing out one or two players so that they have a different look and they imagine a better team. A team more capable.

Missing the playoffs despite the talented and nicely blended roster does evoke some sort of response and i question if it is merely just dismissing the head coach. In fact, they seemed to hem and haw before letting the coach go.

What they might do next is naturally going to be re-defining the roster. But they have a good mix of skill, toughness, skating, experience. Henceforth my comment about a nucely blended roster and, in my original response, referance made to Smith being adequate though they may need to develop a back up netminder in the AHL.

The league is going more and more to speed. But in the playoffs you also see teams whom have plenty of players displaying grit and push back.

Ordinarily you don't go trade a D Hamilton. But if you look at your prospect pool and you really would like to add a certain type of player, how do you get him So for us to get someone the stature of Hamilton, we must trade our first earliest choice. Or possibly if they really like someone we have previously drafted - ok, say Jokiharju.

Maybe that is the change - change out one of your dmen for a different player. Add a prospect from the first round as well.

Personally i do not make such a trade if i am Calgary. But i suggest it takes an offer like that to bring a Hamilton or some other good dman here. Someone better than deHahn. And including Jurco or rights to Duclair? Forget about that. Nobody wants them. Maybe in a waiver claim, but not as part of a trade. They are not a sweetener to make the trade go.

In fact just discard the sweetener idea. It is our top player, top prospect, top choice which has to balance out in terms of value going the other way. No Jurco, Duclair. Maybe an extra later pick or some other prospect gets included, but not our fringe players.

Watching the Jets and Preds last night made me realize how much i miss Byfuglien and even many may not think so how the Hawks missed Bickell in the playoffs last 2 years in the 1st round. Any Nashville player gets around Byfuglien the arms get shorter and eyes get bigger, damn salary cap

Yes BTD, but you HAVE to remember, there was/is NO WAY Q plays Buf on D. That was part of the problem. Buf wanted to play D, Q wanted him at F (for some obvious reasons) and Q almost always gets what he wants.

Q has played a huge role in shipping talented guys off that don't exactly fit his methods. I mean, what would Q ever do with a 260lb force of nature that can skate better than 90% of the league and whose speed is at least in the top 75% category? You can't have a huge guy able and quite willing to punish any opponents foolish enough to stand in front of our goalie when it doesn't fit the Q system.

Although I can't stand Ovie, I want the Caps to eliminate the Pens (no 3 peat) and finally win the CUP -- moreover, I want to see Kempny continue to play well. Just another in a long line of guys that Q didn't find serviceable.

Yes, Kempny is acquitting himself quite well as an NHL caliber defenseman in likely the highest pressure game situations he's ever played in.

I'm happy for Kempny and hope he continues to play well. Wish they would have kept him over some of the other guys like Oyster or Rutta in particular.

While Buff may not have been an ideal Q dman, I don't think he's not here because of that. Money is more the matter. Stupid salary cap.
