So anyways, I think game previews are lame and if you care enough to read this you probably already know everything you need to know.

Honestly, you're pumping out what, maybe 3 blogs a week at best?, surely there is a Caps fan here that can do this, and maybe show a little passion, or poops given when writing for Caps fans....

Blah blah blah please for the love of god, find yourself a hobby man. This is pathetic. If you don't like my form of subversive hockey entertainment, it's not like there's a lack of other options. The internet should make it so that people who want to colour outside the lines and have a little fun can do so. Instead, it's more homogeneous than ever.

With all seriousness, and none of my usual undercutting of the point to be clever, I honestly suggest you look inside yourself and see what makes you want to complain about the one hockey blog out of ten thousand that actually tries to do something different. It might not be for you, but is it really worth your time, in a world with unlimited options, to complain about the one guy who wants to be a little weird?

I mean, do what you want - its nothing to me - but the existence of people like you actually kind of makes me sad. Better yet, get off your ass and start your own blog.

i actually really enjoy your work and admittedly always look forward to seeing what you put out. even if i dont agree with you and understand that you definitely revel in being a lightning rod from time to time, its still an enjoyable read because its usually really evident that you love what you do. this is supposed to be fun after all.

however, this one you did seem to mail it in a bit for whatever reason. i understand not wanting to do game previews/recaps and thats fine. but this is turning into a hell of a series! get excited!

Yes and No. I do think they've been lucky and have gotten very favorable results which will eventually results in a loud thud as they drop back to earth. But they are a good team that got a sweetheart deal.

BUT George McPhee being George McPHee he already traded a first a second and a third for Tomas Tatar and I think long term should still be their focus........however credit where its due.

But then again, LA lost 4 one goal games that could have gone either way so I think it's a bit early to pretend they're a powerhouse.

I've come around on Tanner's style.

Fact is, I feel there are like 300 or less Capitals fans "that care enough" between RMNB, Japers, here, the Capitals own message boards, and Yahoo (with the insufferable, but not wrong) 'god' and co.

RMNB and Japers are pretty spot on if you want more game coverage and more active chat. Their tone feels more inline with the thought of the fan base. even if it seems more of an Ovi-era Caps generation there are a lot of older fans, but honestly, the misery hasn't changed... just aged.

The Caps message board is old-timers club for sure and, from what I understand (not unlike most fan message boards whether it be sports, bands, you name it,) most of these disgruntled fans (understandably) are a lot like my pops who will tell you the Capitals had lost the series when CBJ tied it at 2 in game 1!! "I can see it already, seen this movie a hundred times!" Not good energy at most times.

Yahoo conversation is troll heavy, of course and VERY few Caps fans that stick it out there and read & participate in that mess regularly anymore.

That, along with the fact that Caps fans have ZERO ammunition to deal with playoff trolls and the collective thought that the annual meltdown is just around the bend, we tend to band together within our borders, if you will.

If the Caps get out of this round and face the Penguins it will pick up. It they do the unthinkable in R2, then maybe you'll see some more of us.. haha

As for Tanner, at first it was: this guy doesn't care about the Capitals, why does he bother? Now I wish we'd see a little more because Hockeybuzz is a different take and Tanner gets it.

Sorry James, your blog isn't as unique as you'd like to believe. There are thousands of terrible blogs out there on the internet. You kind of just blend in with the rest. You're not weird, clever, or even cooky. You're lazy, defensive, and arrogant.

As someone who enjoys the Caps, I enjoy being able to read Caps material and chat with other Caps fans. The fact that you don't agree with my opinion is irrelevant. I'm not being paid to comment on your blog, you're being paid to put effort into something for me to read. Take 10 minutes out of your day, actually give a poop when you write, and for the love of god, please stop using youtube video clips as filler.
