Let Grabner and Moore walk and lets hope we sign Maroon I really like what his style of play did for the team especially not being afraid to park himself in front of goalie too. Was a great season and cant wait until next year!!Lets go Devils!!

He does a lot of good stuff but yeah, in this series he just couldn't do anything. The game was way too fast around him.

Hell of a season.

I watched all 82 games + the 5 playoff games. 3 hours or so per game, which equates to 261 man hours, (about 6 and a half, 40 hour work weeks) of Devils, which is a little ridiculous. As the targets for adverts, we are the product. 261 +/- hours is a lot of 'product' I am bestowing onto the NHL and its affiliates. That is their side, plus merchandise, etc. That is all I basically am to them from a business perspective.

On my side, figuring very low at a $35 an hour consulting fee, that is around $10k worth of potential revenues I chose the Devils, and the NHL over as my schedule is full. Thats also only money, I could have chosen to spend time with the family which is not quantifiable, but even more valuable. Not sure if this is good or bad, but it was a choice I made this year.

My point is the investment in supporting a team can actually be relatively significant.

I am very happy with the development of this team. I am happy with Ray Shero and John Hynes for the most part. We all know what areas need to improve to be able to beat teams like Tampa consistently enough to win the Cup. We did go 4-4 on the year with them, but lost the 4 that count most when the heat was on. We will be fun to watch moving forward. Lets see what the offseason brings for solutions to weaknesses.

The biggest disappointment for me, coming away from the year was the officiating and DoPS. Not even the seemingly one sided calls against the Devils which is subjective, but the whole deal. The people, the process, the rules, all need overhauling. The faceoff carousel, the goalie interference, the off side recalls several minutes after all significantly take away from the enjoyment and flow of the game.

Literally parading Marchand around the All Star game - while on suspension for dangerously, amd pointlessly assaulting our player, knocking him for 30+ games was just absolutely disgusting. I don't care what team or who it is, that doesn't belong in hockey, and then to celebrate it is just ludicrous. The NHL should be ashamed of itself for that.

I am not sure it will help but I am going to write a letter to the NHL and express my disappointment in a respectful but clear way.

If this isn't cleaned up and figured out, it won't be good for the league. It left a bad taste and if it isn't addressed, it will most certainly bear heavily on how I make decisions regarding how I choose to invest my time in the future.
