Happy 1 year Anniversary of the Preds Sweep! Still so sweet one year later. And to think that sweep propelled a series of bad trades and poor play that relegated the Hawks to playoff observers.
- VopatsRash

Here is my Prediction - Just like last year Nashville will not win its last game. So again when the season ends the Hawks will have won as many Stanley Cups as the Preds - ZERO!

very few surprises in the 1st round so far...the better teams are winning and doing so with efficiency...

bluejackets blew an opportunity to bury the caps...i think the caps go onto win that series...

as others have pointed out this hawk team even with a healthy crawford could not beat any of the 16 playoff teams in 7 games...

preds will finish the aves tonight...

Arrogant is the word I would go along with. He is one of many that would not make most NHL rosters, so he should’ve ate some humble pie and went and played in these playoffs. Goes to show how week we are on defense among other places when Stan Bowman has to overpay a guy like that.
- wonthecup10

Do you understand how wrong your statement is??

Gustafsson did not have the choice of returning to Rockford. He has played enough NHL games that he would have to pass through waivers first to do so - and the Hawks were not going to risk losing him through waivers.

Know what you are talking about before posting here. You b1tching and moaning about players you don't like is old!!!!!

Hey loser,

What is even more sweet was the 2nd place trophy you and the rest of the inbred Trashville fans seem to embrace!!!! And that is the closest your team will ever get to see it!!!!!

You keep coming on this page to troll Hawk fans - like your suckwad team was the one that won the Cup three times this decade. You are so pathetic and ignorant.

Now go back to the trailer with you sister/wife - and leave the conversation to the adults!!!!!

Ih that's fuuny I liked it well put here is question or questions for any one in the offseason who would like the hawks to target whether its through trades or free agency for each position:

Goaltending --
LW--
RW--
Center--
Defense--
Just a conversation starter before we know pick in top 10 we end up getting.

How much would you pay Moore?

$5 mil per

Of all the players you list i think he would help the Hawks the most

You have to keep in mind this is a 3year rebuild not 1 bad season hiccup

i guess one surprise is that considering the so call parity..3 of the WC series are over with the victors a combined 12-1. And the one series i thought would be 4 - 0 or 4 -1 is now 3-2 with a heroic effort by a 30 year old rookie goalie.

I think DeHann woild cost more I would give Morre 3.5 to 4mil per year for 3 to 4 years he is 27 I also would like to get Brandon Manning from phily 2 to 3 years at 2 to 2.5 mill per year.

$5 mil per for a player that has only eclipsed 20 points in a season once? Hard pass.

Moore is nothing more than a #5-#7 d-man. He shouldn't see more than $1.5-$2 mil AAV.

I do like de Haan and Moore as possibilities. How about any of these D men if the other two sign elsewhere: Gorges, Hickey, Holden, or Connauton?

I also like Hutchinson as a backup goalie. Bernier is one I would consider as well.

Columbus v Washington with a 2 p.m. CST start time today on NBC.
Home team has won zero games so far in this series.
Evenly matched squads.

Has it been determined that he is eligible to be an Ice Hog starting tomorrow night?
- StLBravesFan

Gustafsson will be playing for Sweden in the World Championships. Has zero to do with him being arrogant, he wants to play on a bigger stage and really has nothing to prove at the AHL level. The Hawks I'm sure are thrilled he'll be playing in the Worlds and getting more experience against better NHL talent.

Link here: http://2018.iihfworlds.co...ews/10-nhlers-for-sweden/

To whoever asked about why Jurco and Hinostroza didn't get reassigned:

Jurco and Hinostroza both have played over 80 games in the NHL, which makes them ineligible to be sent down without clearing waivers, so obviously the Hawks won't be doing that.

I like your idea of getting Hammond as a backup goalie. Forsberg and Berube just don't do it for me, and if Crawford's status is still up in the air you need someone who you know has had success at the NHL level. Hammond played fantastic the other night against the Predators, he's certainly worth a shot and I'm sure would love to get out the #3 goalie role in Colorado.

The rest of the guys on your list, I'd only seek out if they are at or below market level for contract term and AAV. Don't overpay for anyone on that list.

Hammond was a great story in Ottawa. But the thing with him is he is either hot or cold. Not much in between, as least as he's shown so far.

All I remember of west side story is a vivacious and young Natalie wood. If only she had learned to wear better boat shoes! I did miss whatever stlb was pointing at - figured there was something to his comment — just didn’t know what and was to lazy to research it. Anything, thanks for rekindling my memories of Natalie.

Natalie Wood (Maria) was outrageously beautiful and a terrific actor in several movies - but she was terribly miscast in this - couldn’t sing (I think Marne Nixon dubbed most/all of her songs), couldn’t dance (hard to dub that)....

The rest of the cast - Russ Tamblyn, George Chakiris, Rita Moreno (especially), the Jets - were outstanding.

As was the whole musical....

Dude! So I did my research and now realize the rival hams in west side story were the jets and sharks. Never would have made the association without your pointing it out. Thanks!
