Nice write up Todd. I didn't realize how bad the 4th line was playing but the stats don't lie. Also, Miles Wood seems to think he should be a tough guy this series with all his extra curricular shenanigans. Is he trying to channel his inner Pepe Lemieux? Not sure why he doesn't focus more on using his speed to create offense.
Need all to bring their A games tonight as it really is still a must win. Can't go down 3-1 with 2 games left in Tampax |

They mentioned on the broadcast in the 3rd period that Wood had only a little amount of ice time, I forget the amount. On his next shift the devils were hemmed in their own zone and I thought Tampa was going to take the lead. Wood is also prone to taking the unnecessary penalty. I can't see how Bratt could be any worse in that spot. I guess Stafford's 'experience' is why I'd rather see Bratt replace Wood instead of Stafford, and if that were the case I would also rather see Bratt on the PP than Stafford. |

BOLTS IN 5 - smellmyfinger
The only game so far the Devils didn’t have a chance was game 1 where they were outplayed from the beginning of the game to the end, if Cory can play the way he has over the last game and a half the devils have a lot better chance then most fans and experts expect |

General Johansson will be alone on the ice and have to concede when he realizes he can’t play goal. |

Nobody is going to argue that the Devils are the better team here. At best we've got a puncher's chance against a boxer. Realistically we're in trouble.
We've been destroyed on the PK which has been a rock all season.
Our goalie sometimes falls and can't get up. The other one has glove hand that doesn't seem to work or move.
Drew Stafford has somehow replaced a fast rookie (Bratt) in a faster moving Vet (Grabner) in a very fast moving game. To me this seem like Hyne's worst decision. Did anyone tell him there's no shootout in the playoffs? If the fourth line got destroyed with Stafford on it and he had the worst underlying numbers WTF is he in for?
What we do have is a team that is committed to fighting their asses off that are making it hard on Tampa. And despite the 'Devils aren't a deep team' comments have been able to generate some offense. We have last change being at home. And in hockey anything can happen. Huge night. Lets see if we have some good Mojo now that Mojo is back.
LET'S GO DEVILS!
Whatever happens it's FANTASTIC being back in the playoffs! Going tonight and happy not to worry about a handshake line. |

If Schneider plays like he did on Monday we have a good chance. They need to pressure them and have their foot on the pedal all game. LGD! |

So what the deal with Grabs? They have him playing in a scoring role before the scratch? Just my observation in 2 years with the Rangers, but he seems to be at his best in a checking role and on the PK.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I mean, it has to be the reason, right? Gibbons, Bratt, Grabner all way too soft on the puck. Sure they have all the speed in the world, but doesn't help if you're just turning it over. |
