Dan Wallace: Home Team Series So Far

Nice to see this team finally firing on all cylinders. Extremely impressed with the 4th line performance. His first goal not withstanding, Greenway looked much better last night, looks like he's getting more comfortable.

And what can you say about Granlund? Guy can make play.

Also very impressed with the play of Seeler. He has stepped up big time. He looks like a seasoned vet out there, not a guy with 20 NHL games under his belt.

I only got to see the 3rd period of last nights game, but it looked good to me. Just watched the highlights of the scoring now as well. I was just reading a post on an earlier blog that said the Wild needed to use their speed to get away from the Jets big hits. Looked like they did that for this game.

I think this game went to show that if the Wild can control the tempo, they can beat the Jets. Is this completely connected to having the ability to do the line matchups? Is the best defense for the Wild being completely offensive? Like they have all season long, the Wild waited to counter-punch the opposition instead of jumping on them from the get go. I think that might be the most frustrating thing about this team.

I am still holding by my call of the Wild in 6, but the margin for error in this series for the Wild has gotten a lot slimmer. But if they can manage to turn this into a 3 game series, that just might be what takes the wind out of the Jets sails for game 5 in Winnipeg. Here's hoping that game 4 is exactly like game 3!

I think it's fairly evident that each of these teams definitely benefit from getting last line change. Which is obvious why both teams are so good on home ice. The Koivu line held Winnipegs first line to 3 shots according to KFAN

Well that first goal was pretty fluky the way it bounced up and right by the pad and post. I thought both goals were extremely soft on the part of Dubnyk, but overall he played well again.

you guys won the game and played well but the game was closer than the score. The Jets outshot the Wild and had superior Analytics ( if you like those Corsi and shots/possesion for or against stats, not everyone does ). Wild also had a 20% shooting percentage last night which is unrealistic to maintain. I never thought we would sweep you so with that said, I'm not worried. good luck

I appreciate your candidness Ross, I get your whole passive/aggressive thing, I just don't quite understand why at this point of the series you're trying to convince the Wild fan base that no matter what the Jets are the "better team". I think that term/expression get's thrown around a little to cavalierly this time of year, corsi stats be damned. Better team cannot really be determined until the series is over.

I can assure you that at the end of this series, the better team will be moving on to the second round. Of that I have no doubt. So Cheers

an early, soft, 1st goal in the game is not helpful if the team that scores wasn't playing the right way to earn the goal. Somehow teams forget that they still have to sacrifice and play all out as it almost always takes more than one goal to win.
