Noel Fogelman: Isles Buzz Podcast - Isles beat writer Andrew Gross - Noel Fogelman
Good job, Noel. Just one thing. When you asked Gross if the fact that Tavares was so comfortable on the Islanders "hindered the direction of the team", I'm not sure Gross fully understood your question. He seemed to think you were just referring to the re-signing issue; whereas I thought you perhaps were referring to "the country club" atmosphere that has pervaded the team for many years.........such that forwards like Tavares and Bailey have gotten away with playing minimal defense for too long.
Was I right? Or was Gross? |

What a depressing podcast. JT probably walks for nothing and Snow still keeps his job. I'm going to find something else to do with my time next season because I'm not going to be watching this poop team until they smarten up and clean house. - JimmyP
I feel the same way. It left me bummed out. If JT walks on 7/1, L&M better fire Garth on the spot and I do not care if they need to promote Chris Lamoriello. |

I'm with you. It has become not worth my time more so than in the past. |

Haven't listened to podcast because the problems are obvious.
Got a feeling that if TOR tanks against BOS pressure will be on to sign JT. That way Matthews and company will learn the JT zone float. |

Do you really think JT walks in the summer? I still just don't see it happening. Don't the Islanders have enough money/space to give him the world?
Side note, my avatar is to troll my own forum not this one. |

No one knows but it doesn't look good. I'd say the odds are he walks. |

I thought for the longest time JT was be back, but it's not looking good. If he gets to 7/1 and can talk to other teams it could be really tough for JT to re-sign with the Isles. |

My biggest frustration (if I were an Islander fan) aside from the JT situation would be Garth's apparent immunity. How he survives what has transpired I will never know. |

One of us will have to sacrifice himself for the fan base and put a stake through Snow's heart. If we are lucky the jury will be made up of Islander fan and there will be no jail time. |

Yeah nobody does or can explain it. He put the team in this position in 12 years of supposedly building through the draft this team has more holes than could be realistically filled in two seasons, a terrible coach, and a pretty much terrible record over that time. As it stands now we need to do another rebuild we have arguably more holes than your team when you started yours and yet this guy still has a job. Mind blowing . |

I'm not sure about that but I can understand your view. At least you have some elite forward talent. The Rangers don't have anything elite (for sure) outside of an aging goaltender. We will have to see what next season and beyond looks like before we can gauge what each team has left to fix.
I often wonder what having some first round draft picks could/would have done for this team. Or maybe picking a different player in some of the drafts. Hindsight is always 20/20 though.

Thanks Vukota! That was really good. L&M have to push JT's hand and make a move now with Garth and Doug. They cannot sit back and wait for 7/1. |

Have to think something is up 7. Have a hard time believing Ledecky is going to come back and say Garth and Doug are returning. Ledecky will get absolutely hammered and it's obvious he is sensitive going by the billboard thing and they was against Garth and not even him. |

I said he was going to be canned and I still believe it. Nice to hear Botta saying what he said. It gives me hope.
Maybe by the end of this week |

Exactly what I've been saying for a month or so! L&M suck. This whole organization sucks. We all know that Snow blows. Nothing will change until Snow is gone. |
