Paul McCann: Pivotal Game Three Tonight

The Preds are not just the one team with single digit regulation road losses this season...they are the first team to do that in the last 10 full seasons that I can tell. For some reason, this team is almost better on the road than at home. They need to get one of these wins on the road, and get out of this series in 5 games. The longer a series goes, the more chippy it gets. More opportunities for injury or suspensions.

I think you might see a little shakeup to the 4th line tonight. My guess is that you might see Hartnell come in for Salomaki. I don't know if Jarnkrok is ready yet, but I could also see Fisher taking a seat for a game here or there as well. I believe the 4th line has been on the ice for all of the 5v5 goals allowed. That's not going to cut it.

Give the Avs full marks for disrupting a lot of the what the Preds want to do. But the Preds have another gear they have not found yet. The D has not played overly well, and the penalties are racking up. Is this the game where they put it all together and show what they can really be? I hope so!

Did you see Ryan Ellis interview after the game. He said all the right things, but this team has gotten so arrogant that I'm not sure this loss will even register with them. Lavy needs to knock their heads out of the clouds and get them to playing their game.
