I hope the Leafs can make a series outta that tonight. Not only do I want every series besides the Pens series to go to 7, I also don't want the the B's getting alot of rest.

They’re done. Losing Kadri was huge. I’ll be surprised if they win more than one game

damn straight. I 'member a couple of people saying that this was going to be the most compelling/close fought first round ever. (then again, pretty much hear that every year)

I think there are some very good series going on right now. The NSH/COL series is really good. They're 2-0, but the Avs are really taking it to Nashville.

The WPG/MIN series is awesome as is the Kings/Knights.

The Caps/Jackets series has been really fun.

Love seeing Tampa go down, & they started their usual poop once they were losing!

Starting to get as bad as some western teams!

The Preds seem a bit off. They don't start playing until mid 2nd. Nice to see Colorado fend them off and win one. That series has been tight.

Preds are my Cup pick, but the one thing I wonder about them is if they have enough star talent up front. They have depth all over the place, but not much top end skill.

They're certainly better up front than last year. Adding Turris and bonino plus having Fiala and Johansen healthy is a big difference.

From most accounts it's their D that's been suspect.

I dunno, Forsberg, Johansen, and Arvidsson are all bonafide studs and I think the only team that can match their center depth is the Pens.

I think they are pretty good at forward too:
Forsberg, Arvidsson, Johansen, Turris, Smith, Bonino...Fiala..

And their D is pretty good on paper:

Ellis is a weapon on the PP. Josi, Subban, Ekholm..

They're good players, but where would you rank that trio among play-off contenders? Are they even in the top ten among play-off teams? Forsberg is the only true star I feel they have up front.

I just don't see the same level of dynamic offense I do on every other Cup contender. Nevertheless, with that top 4 defense and amazing depth, I still picked them to win it all. Just see that as their Achilles heel

Uhh are you questioning Nashville's offense?

They finished 7th in the league in goals for. Only 5 goals behind PIT...

No, I'm questioning their top end forward talent. I think they have the deepest forward group in the league and get a lot of offense from their blueline.

No top 50 scorers (though a healthy Forsberg does) and their top center barely cracked the top 100.

Well first, who are you considering "every other cup contender," I think that has to be established before I can compare them to anyone.

Second, I don't think you need Crosby and Malkin to win a cup (while they do help), the Blackhawks, Kings, and Bruins of the last 6 seasons weren't overly loaded with top end talent any more than this current Predators team.

One could argue that makes them better than a team with two elite centers carrying the brunt of the scoring.

The fact they score that much from all around their lineup makes them less reliant on any one or two players.

While I still think NSH wins this one, it’s almost starting to feel like that Wings/Sharks series from 94.
