i sort of wonder if all the crazy parents abusing refs in the lower levels has scared people off from becoming refs lol. smaller ref talent pool coming up the ranks as a result. completely no evidence on my part of course but i could see that being part of it |

I think it's because they put the whistle away for the playoffs so you have what's happening in the wild vs jets series now. Refs are calling way more things to keep the situation from escalating.

just be consistent, that's all. missing calls is going to happen but when the rules seemingly change from shift to shift, period to period, and game to game it's really messed up. |

The logical 1st step for all leagues to take is to actually hold it's officials accountable. Until that happens, nothing will change.

They actually might but it's never aired publically and it could go a long way if they at least said what is the general punishment of bad reffing.
Also if they actually were afraid of losing their job it might affect them. |
