Plekanac with Marleau and Marner???? WHY??? seriously WHY?? babcock has lost his mind....

Time for the Leafs to book golf times if Pleks is our number 2 center in the most important game of the season...

Babs is the greatest coach ever? Not from what I have seen when the pressure is on and games matter. To many poor decisions.

Foligno did something dumb and hurt Myers. That was the big update yesterday. Zadorov looks good. Tim Murray is drunk on a beach somewhere. O'Reilly needs a shrink. The tanking continues unabated at a breakneck pace
- jcragcrumple

you think he gets traded?

Despite Buffalo having bad seasons, I think he's always looked pretty good for you guys.

A little overpaid but a solid player still.

It’s a bit of an offseason post... but I guess since we have a few fans of teams in their off seasons, it’s ok to bring up...

What would a top-5 redraft for 2015 look like?

McDavid obviously stays at the top.

#2-4 is a bit of a toss up... Barzal has been amazing all year. Marner plays in a more 2-way role, and overcame an early season slump to lead the Leafs in Matthews’s absence, and Werenski is already a bonafide too pairing dman on a playoff team.

#5 between Rantanen and the sleeper pick Aho, another tough choice. I’d go with Rantanen though.

Am I forgetting anyone?

- Feeling Glucky?

In retrospect.

2015 was a god damn great draft year.

Foligno barely touched him....not even sure what happened on that play...lanky people get weird injuries

I like him a lot. I have no idea what they'll do. His 20g, 60p, 2 PIMs and all-time faceoff record isn't the problem. The problem is we have approximately 5 good players

We can answer with a question; If moving Plekanec up results in a win, are you still asking why?

Kadri out and Komarov's out.. who else is there to play C?

Well the Leafs lost their top defensive C and are losing the special teams battle badly. Two of the biggest issues they could possibly have. That said.

Hyman-Matthews-Nylander
Kap-Marleau-Marner
Brown-Bozak-JVR
Johnsson-Moore-Plek (with very minimal ice time for this line)

I could imagine that would piss off an astronaut that strapped his ass to a metal tube propelled 240K miles in the air by 5 F-1 rockets each pushing about 1.8M lbs of thrust

I was at the Flight Museum in Seattle literally a week ago to the hour...sue me

For starters, Pleks would be sitting. He has been aweful. As well, Zaitsev would sit a game. Again, aweful.

Insert Carrick for Zaitsev (I would prefer Borgman but I think he is injured?)

Up front, I would go with:

Willie- Matthews-Hyman
Marner-Marleua-Johnsson
JVR-Bozak-Brown
Kap-Moore-Martin

(for me you either move Johnsson or Kap up the lineup...)

But alas, I am not paid millions of dollars to put Pleks at #2 center...

Pleks has it in him

Behind Matthews he is the only C that can be relied upon defensively(without Kadri)

Matthews needs time away from Bergeron

So, Babs just used his only option, Pleks with the most defensively responsible winger in Marleau. Switch Brown with Marner if you want but with Marner they can score too.

Pretty much. Scandella is ok.

Eichel plays with Girgensons and Pominville. That tells you all you need to know about the state of the wingers

Plek can play defensively, asking him to produce offensively is where you expect way too much

Both yours and Mark's suggestions seem like good choices for non-milliions of dollar making coaches

Marleau did not work at C

There is no line that can go up against Bergeron

Yes, Bozak and JVR need to step up.

Other then Bozaks goal and JVR actually knocking down Chara, they need to be better...

He's been pretty (frank)ing offensive since coming to the Leafs...
