Leafs need to get that first goal, they’ve had a lot of success scoring first this season time to make it happen.
Matthews has 9 shots through 2 games a few more good looks on last change and he snipes one tomorrow. |

i knew already - was just pointing out the obvious i guess.
but since people seem to think Andersen is an MVP, not sure what people think about Elliott.. sooo - MaximusAurelius
I was just making a joke to how bad he was in his time in Ottawa, against the Pens in the playoff, as it would happen.

80 points at 21 is pretty damn impressive. He might be the best of his draft class. - Blazed
I thought that was Josh Ho-Sang? |

Lol Draisatl and Ekblad have a solid case for that title. |

Said Ho-Sang, in a lengthy interview: “If I was a general manager and had first pick in the draft, I’d pick me No. 1 … In three years, I’ll be the best player in this draft. And I have no doubt about that. I know myself. I know the other players. I believe in my ability. There are guys ranked ahead of me who are nowhere near me.
“I’m not concerned about the draft (and where I’m picked). I know what’s being said out there. I know people’s skepticism. I’m prepared for that.”

Clearly Dal Colle - 21peter
Pretty sure I suggested a trade centred around Kessel for Dal Colle a few years back and was laughed at.

I like how Vorachek high-sticks Sheary in the face making him bleed but the moron ref calls it hooking.
I mean, technically he did hook him, but it was on the face. That's high-sticking. |

I want a Marleau-Matthews-Kap line - Santo_44
I’d be fine with just Marleau-Matthews-Nylander although Babs very clearly wants a retrieval guy on each line.
They can’t get fancy through the neutral zone but every time they dump it in the Bruins collect it and break out.
Hyman has been by far the most effective Leaf on the chase. Marleau is pretty good at that too. Kapanen as well so maybe not a bad line. |

Ha yeah sure but in hindsight would’ve been a dandy trade for NYI. |

Marleau - Marner - Kapanen
to play vs Tabernak - Bergeron - Rat
Matthews with Hyman and Nylander
Johnson - Bozak- Brown
play three lines heavily, use JVR mainly on the PP. |

Kap has been pretty good despite his line-mates playing poorly.
I am just having a hard time thinking who they will stack up against Bergeron.
It has to be Matthews...but I think they need to keep him away from Bergeron to get him going offensively |

When was the last time Marner played center? Legitimate question |

Marner has never played center in the NHL, you do not experiment against that line. no way |

3 games with London. Then they figured out that he's not a centre. |

Hyman has been good on both top lines, I am fine with him being there.
I am thinking maybe
Hyman-Nylander-Brown/Marner
JVR-Bozie-Brown/Marner
and play Nylanders line against Bergeron and hope for the best. |

Play Nylander’s line against the hottest line in hockey seems like a likely disaster.
Marner has played well but I’m not sure that line could pull off a single successful dump in against playoff Bruins.

Have either Marner or Marleau play center on that line - in any case, Marner can't do worse vs Bergeron on C than any of the other options.
And I'd add Martin and Borgman - have 7 d-men. |
