as far as the Oilers coaching situation goes I assume it depends on whether management wants to fire McLellan as well as his staff or whether it is just the assistants. None of the available coaches really jump out to me as a can't miss. AV would be the closest but I don't see him differing too much from McLellan.

Agreed. It's something I brought up in my newest blog regarding Puljujarvi's season (shameless plug) http://my.hockeybuzz.com/...r_id=103583&post_id=18073. McLellan certain has his guys he goes to regardless their production, Lucic and Caggiula to name a couple and guys like Puljujarvi who never seem to get opportunity.

All coaches have their go to guys but burying Pulju on the 3rd and 4th line doesnt help him. I would have preferred seeing him play big minutes in the AHL.

He’s an idiot. We should have stuck with the Todd we had. Nelson got the best out of his players, much like MacT. He deserves a legit shot as a NHL head coach and I think he’ll get one soon
