A discussion of what we can expect in the Nurse negotiations, with comparisons to deals signed by players of similar performance.
- Wildschwein
Nurse:I want 6 mill for 8 years
Chia: ok we'll make that buyout proof and with Full NTC!
A breakdown of the top prospects available in this years draft, that most fit our organizational needs (RW and RH D in particular).
See Garfs cut and paste article on CSS rankings.
A discussion on whether or not to bring back Ryan Strome, and how much should the Oilers spend if they choose to do so.
No
A breakdown of Lucic's struggles, and whether or not he's likely to rebound. Are there similar examples around the league perhaps?
Sucks, not likely, no.

critics... the lot of you.
Posted this on my blog but I think it's reasonable to talk about the Chia/Bob pressers. It's the GM and President's idea of how to run the team going forward and their "plan" is worrisome.
Having said that I get many of you don't always want the doom and gloom and if you guys have any ideas (real ones no wrestling blogs from me ) I would be happy to offer some different ideas! - freelancer
Free, did you happen to get my PM? I've got a question for you there if you get a moment.
As for the idea of discussing the press conferences, I don't think I take issue with anyone choosing to discuss it so long as there's a recognition that it's going to contain a lot of rehashing of things that have been said thousands of times before. It would be like a left-leaning political outlet committing a whole article to Trump's comments on wussy grabbing again using the context of a slightly off-base comment he might make in a tweet today.
By my estimation, the best way to handle it would be mentioning it and your thoughts on it as a precursor to a piece of content with some more "meat on its bones" (for lack of a better term). |

So your solution includes not bringing back Strome? I have a hard time imagining a world where that makes sense to me. |

It's because it doesn't make sense at all. In fact, that would be foolish. |

Nah. I think he will be back. I'm just not sure if I'd give him what he will get. |

He'll probably get around 3m-3.5m for 3 or 4, of which I'm fine with. Doubt he could try to challenge for anything higher. |

Okay. Assuming the contract is to your liking, you'd bring him back? What would be a contract to your liking? I'm personally of the mind that anything below 3mil is a no-brainer and even a slightly higher hit would be worth keeping him for. Our management's consistent inability to find value in UFAs influences my belief that we really ought to keep Strome for our bottom-6. |

His QO is 3 mill. Longer term I'd think he wants more. I guess we will see but I don't think he's worth over that. |

QOs aren't the be all end all; look at Justin Schultz as a prime example. He wouldn't really have a leg to stand on if he demands much more than 3mil and his likely comparables see their salaries often being a good deal below that. |

Since Petey C mentioned that he'd be open to trading the pick, I've seen more people than I'm comfortable with mentioning trading it for less than stellar returns. What would you guys aim for in return for the pick? Would you even consider trading the pick?
For me, it's either to add to a roster player to upgrade our D or we use it. With the talent that's been picked in this range over the past decade (Fowler, Hamilton, Trouba, Ehlers, Werenski, Sergachev, McAvoy, etc) and the likelihood of substantial talent still being on the board there, I'd be reluctant to entertain a move sending it away- especially with the expansion draft coming up. |

Bingo.
Gotta be for a bonafide upgrade. By that, I'm talking about those two Swedes in particular. If not, draft a player (fine with Bouchard or Farabee at this point, but hey, we don't know where we'll be drafting until the lotto is conducted so...)

I just hope Chia doesn't give him the 4m special. My only worry.
And then there is Maroon we gotta worry about too if he goes unsigned by NJ. I have a feeling that he is coming back, which for me, is fine considering that he has shown that he can produce there as well with a different group of players, but not at a price I would be keen on (yet again, the 4m special). |

If I'm grabbing a forward in that range, the only one I consider is Wahlstrom. The guy is a zone entry, first-shot scoring machine and would be a perfect compliment to what we've already got. After grabbing him high, I look at grabbing one of Lundkvist or Addison in round 2. |

I'd like to see them upgrade our D using the pick and maybe tossing in a salary dump like Russel |
