One of the most consistent coaches in the game , my favourite coach to ever coach the cbj , thanks for that playoff cameo .

Great personality though. Will miss seeing him behind an NHL bench.

He had a lot of good years but it was overdue.

It's been a good run Paul Berrer.

I thought the game passed him by after the lost season of 04-05. He tanked in Philly, did squeeze a good year out in CLB but couldn't keep it going, underperformed in STL and couldn't turn DAL around. Still, he'll always have that cup ring, so he's got that going for him, and was 362-195-88 with the cup and an additional trip to the finals in the first and most successful segment of his long career.

Great hockey mind. But the game has somewhat outgrown his style. HHOFer for sure.

Congrats on the journey.

He got Screwed in Philly. He was not the problem and the team did no better without him, Still one of the best to get the team re-focused within the game and one of the best at building a "team" where he accepted penallities to stand up for teammates, something that might look crappy on paper sometimes but built the teams as one. Always hoped he would have another stint out in Philly.

I hope he is retiring because he wants to enjoy a life away from work, and not because of any health issues.

He probably has a few issues considering his age and body type...but seriously he’s been coaching in the NHL for more than 20 yrs, made boatloads of cash, won a Stanley....time for him to put his feet up.
