What do you give Duclair. Has to be low offer with incentives. Until or if he ever establishes himself as a proven scorer -- albeit one year forthcoming -- i do not want him here being sometimes lazy or irresponsible. Which a young player that he still is, has a problem accepting and overcoming that attitude. This is just a commonality with guys who have been point producers prior to NHL. I bring him back only after i have the remainder of my roster set. I might give Martinsen guaranteed salary nhl amount but two way deal so that he could be assigned. If that is possible to structure.
I believe Justin or someone said that he is not consistently a tough checking guy. He is in a show me in Chicago state of mind ....this i would bet is true
Lastly, can anyone confirm the transaction where Samuelson signed with Rockford. Was it on loan from Phoenix or minor league sign after Phoenix let him go. I would like to see his game. Anyone see him recently in Rockford please give your viewpoint on his game strength and weaknesses. I recall some stron points from his junior report; he was a first round by Phoenix |

If edijsell is a possible replacement for AA could the hawks get creative at the draft and maybe put a package together to move up in the draft besides their top 10 pick and get another top 15 fifthteen pick would AA Nashville 1st and say duclair rights or vinny be enough to move up. Rangers have 3 first rounders montreal has 4 2nd rounders both teams need a center possible trade partners. |

Under 6'2? Under 210? He's undersized and soft and will fail. - BlazinMike
Not. We get someone signed who plays a hard hitting game, even has a mean streak. Know that the prospect from Penn State also a ferocious player.......it is his style. Believe that guy will be a great role player. Or like Burrish. Marginal skill but not bad by any means. |

Ejdsell showed some decent skill last night, but he's not a capable replacement for a top 6 center role at this point. And how much better than Highmore or Kampf on the bottom 6 is he really? I want to see more.... I also doubt rangers or habs are looking for pushing-30 centers who can't win draws and is a bit injury prone. |

Duclair would not be of interest to anyone IN TRADE AND ESPECIALLY NOT INVOLVING any #1 pick. Possibly to move up a few spots Vinny or AA. And or a prospect of ours someone likes |

The only point i have to disagee is about the scoring exploits of Edjsell vs Highmore or Kampf on the bottom six.
Edgsell is the real deal talent skill pass and shoot. Highmore especially and Kampf do not have his skill. They are more the gritty scorer type.

Samuelson's relationship with any NHL team is over. Coyotes had him down in the AHL for years, he ended up in the ECHL. He signed with the Icehogs, technically I don't think we can call him up because he's only on an AHL deal.
I know for sure that he has no NHL relationship right now.

Highmore works hard, but I don't think Jurco, Highmore, Sharp, and Martinsen have much to offer. Even Hinostroza has been very ineffective lately. Foley mentioned only 1 assist in his last 10 games....Martinsen can fill the "goon" role, I suppose. Duclair is another MEH. Inconsistent and when he's bad, he's really bad with penalties and turnovers. Richard Panik playing top line with Stepan in AZ and putting up points lately as that team has won a lot more games than the Hawks over the last 6 weeks. |

Yes. Or makes an appearance in their last home game. He sounds like he's going to be limited. |

The Hawks have a lot of bubble players who can fill in on a short term basis but aren't likely to be consistent contributors - Duclair, Jurco, Highmore, Martinsen, Kampf, Gustafsson, Rutta and Oesterle. I wouldn't lose any sleep of all of these guys weren't on the Hawks next season (some should be in Rockford).
Hinostroza is still a bit streaky, but he should definitely stick around for a while.
Hayden has shown flashes but I think the jury is still out on him. I don't know if he's won Q over yet, his ice time still isn't where it should be.
Ejdsell's played one game so it's too early to tell where he's at. |

Hearing he is making Hawks think hard about signing him to a 2-way deal for next year.
He's close to dad and playing really well. Another reclamation project with low risk.
They juat have to be careful with their contract limit. They're really going on a signing spree.

Thanks for the input. His style fits Icehogs tough grinding forward subset they have most years going back through Dent's tenure. Whenever i see someone start scoring whom was a former high choice, i perk up. Apparently not going to be a physical 4L guy we could audition. Ok, especially since he fell to ECHL and this is his first smell of success since drafted, he must just not have been a worthy first round choice. No nhl future i'll go along with your input. |

Justin, is the contract limit that much of an issue? When the season ends and a player is a UFA, does their contract come off the rolls...thus reducing the # of contracts (ie: Duclair, etc) |

Not too high on Kampf?
Possibly could outplay other team's #4 center, ok on face offs, responsible actually good defensively and can chip in occassional goal. |

Montreal doesn't need to be so greedy...they can share at least one of their second rounders. Duclair is French Canadian, it's a perfect fit! |

I like Kampf and he could turn out to be a 4C, but I think he still needs to prove himself a bit. I'd still keep him in the organization, but is he really the type of 4th line centre a contender wants? |

Don't see Bergevin being interested unless he gets him for a low picck or off waivers. And then more likely if Paciorety is dealt. |
