yes...it was that bad:

Saad and Toews had the worst Corsi games of their career tonight. Saad had a career-worst 14.29 Corsi percentage. Toews had a career-worst 15.63 percentage. Kane's 18.18 percentage was the fourth worst of his career.

a combined 48...

Tuevo' 52 points would be 2nd on the Hawks behind Kane. Tuevo has his flaws(soft as cotton), but he is talented offensively and was yet another high end asset (1st round pick) that Bowman gifted away to shed a questionable contract.

Probably not fair but maybe the Hawks should have completed full medical on bicks before trading him? And having to sweeten with TT

Teuvo Teravainen on being a top guy in Carolina: "It’s a little different, of course. In here, you don’t have to play behind Kane and Toews and those guys, so you get a little bit more of a chance to be out there and do your thing. That’s nice, for sure."

Panarin made similar comments.

Let’s be perfectly clear here - Carolina sucks. They are not a great team, they are not a good team. However, at this point the Hawks can lose to anyone, especially if going for 2 in a row. I’ve said before that if you are scouting the Hawks you just play patient hockey because the Hawks will eventually mess up completely. Cue tonight’s game. Hawks up 2 - 1 and get a PP at end of the 1st period, carry over to 2nd. Hawks blow the PP and allow a completely clear break-away to the player coming out of the penalty box. 2 - 2. Momentum lost for fragile Hawks.

A Professional team doesn’t play like this. You don’t constantly turn over the puck as if trying to set a record for turnovers. You don’t give up odd man breaks and you certainly don’t give up a clear cut break-away up 2 - 1 as a PP expires. There is a difference between being frustrated over losses and embarrassed and this fan has been embarrassed far to often this year including tonight.

Good points from TT, but I don't think he would have gotten there if he was here.

I've said it before, but he was doomed from the get go here and that was all thanks to the Hawks front office/hype train. They billed him as the second-coming of Kane--which is extremely unfair to do to a young player if you ask me. Kane is a prodigy, TT has talent, but nothing like Kane. The fans heard he was supposed to be another Kane and when he wasn't, they and the media buried him.

Totally agree that he's soft, but I think he could perform under the Chicago microscope. He's better in a market like CAR, where he can fly a bit under the radar and not have to play a two-way game--instead, focusing on offense only.

- Hank3Henshaw

He's one of our best two-way players. Strips guys of the puck constantly and is the first forward back most of the time.

You don't have to drill a guy into the boards to get the puck away from him. As long as you get the puck it amounts to the same thing.

Hold up, they're a pretty competitive team. An elite possession team with poor offensive instincts and even worse goaltending.

They're not going to win any sort of shooting contest, but if your D aren't quick or accurate moving the puck they are more than capable of choking a team out, which is what they did here.

I hope so. He's been much better lately than he was at the start of the year. Hopefully a win in Chicago will give him the confidence boost he needs to get things back on track and find his game again.

TT gave him the player of the game award in the dressing room postgame, and I know the guys in the room are really pulling for him, Ward included.

preds and bolts have a great chance at 120 pt seasons...

going to be an interesting post season with great storylines..

1. do the pens have enough in the tank to get to the finals and defend

2. does an expansion team like vegas get to the conf finals or finals

3. can the preds march through again and compete for the puck..

4. do the bolts after finishing out last year plow their way to cup

5. and how about a resurgent bruin team

6. (frank) the caps...out in round 1

Highly doubt Tavares wants to play in Carolina no matter how much they through at him.

Raleigh is a pretty dope town though and that triangle there with Durham and Chapel Hill is a cool area. Lot of tech and medical firms and right between the beach and mountains.

His first step is so slow and when he's not on the ice with Keith he's not very good.
- BetweenTheDots

He covered a lot for Seabrook in the middle of the season until his minutes started to get F'd with again.

He's a good player with well above average physical tools. More importantly already proven he can play at the NHL level and with the improvement this year he can turn into a nice piece for them.

Especially when they don't have to worry about contact

They usually do well against physical teams, because those big guys usually aren't very fast.

They would get crushed by Nashville again. Not enough grit and toughness throughout roster. But it woukd likely be a better compete effort.

You want E Kane, you can have him. Too much a problem child. Like his ability but not liking how everyone wants to unload him. Why is that?

- jhawk59

They dont move the puck from the defenders to the forwards quickly enough. Their zone breakouts and transition has been terrible the last three years.

They look for that back door home run pass on the offside every time. I would have the defenders using their feet more and making quicker plays to get up the ice before the other team gets set. They just aren't able to do that because other teams have adjusted to their scheme and they don't have the overwhelming talent to make up for it.

Going the other way their gap coverage through the neutral zone is terrible, the defenders yield the blue line with ease and the forwards aren't working effectively with the defenders to generate turnovers in the middle of the ice.

Some of that is turnover. Some of that is guys not getting it and some of that is not having the talent to play that way. Something there has to give for them to have success moving forward.

This.

Biggest thing I noticed was how the Hawks in their D Zone never seemed to have an easy outlet pass. Nobody even tried to skate the puck out of the zone. There was no coherence to a breakout unless the Toews line was on the ice, and, even then, it was hit or miss.

Going the other way it was like everyone was too afraid to make a mistake and just kept backing up... Couldn't believe how far back the D played and how often they got caught flat-footed.

they gave up a 3-on-none for gods sake.

Before we get too carried away with how good Carolina is and how bad the Hawks are, the fact is that only 5 points separate the 2 teams (including the 2 they got against us last night).
One plays in a weaker Division and weaker Conference and therefore is still very much in playoff contention.
The other just finished being a seller at the TDL moving grit and depth from the lineup. And this team lost its long time starting goaltender months ago.

This team has no awareness whatsoever, constantly making passes to players who are covered, end of the penalty bull poop, honestly I can't imagine this is good for Q's health
- BetweenTheDots

This may come as a surprise to many. But it is actually's Q's job to get the guys prepared to play.
