I like the 20 19 88 line. Line 2 should be 12 8 91. The kid line.

Just found a Hockey News Article.

Carlson, Green, Chara, Gudbranson and Johnson. Not looking good.

I can't find Panarin on the list for some reason. Are there any D like Panarin; that is, not on the list?

- Popsghostly

Panarin's contract runs through next season.

Late to the board today . Thinking how can they breath life into this organization Next year . 1st I would say you must get a top 4 pick . I can dream and hope it is the 1st or the 2nd pick. If it is 1st you take Dahlin and you have you cornerstone Dmen for 10 years. If it is 2nd you take Zardina and he could breath some life into this offense. Next you get Crow back health. I am saying a lot of " I told you so" to many hockey watchers when I see the Hawks goaltending now without Crow. Gets no respect. Look at the Hawks now. Crow saved there bacon for the past 5 years. He deserved to be the Stanley Cup MVP in 2013. The hawks would have lost to the wild in round 2 if it was not for Crow. Even Kane said Crow deserved the MVP. And in 2015 he deserved to be in the conversation for the MVP. For 2016 and 2017 he was their MVP. I hope he is able to come back next year healthy and much more appreciated. And finally, change the coaching staff. Sometimes you just need a new voice in the room. This group needs a change. Q is a great coach but this group needs a new voice. If the hawks let him go and he gets hire by another organization then so be it. Sometimes change is needed. As far as picking 1st or 2nd I can dream.

The NHL's continued whitewashing and denial of the link between hockey and repeated head injuries' impact on people's lives made it to Real Sports:

Very compelling piece. I agree completely where at the very end Steve Montador shared his ideas with his dad shortly before he passed.
Fighting for example, not tolerated in any other sport. Immediate ejection.

The so called helmets in the NHL, compare it to its counterpart in football. Significantly smaller and less protective from where i sit. Not to mention the hap-hazard manner that most players wear them.
Collisions involving head shots seemingly several times/game. How many times has Crawford been run, and is anyone certain he's coming back? And i mean ever.

The skill of the game could really come though if they simply enforced all the rules as written. i sometimes think someone's going to die on the ice before anything is finally done about all of this.

Let's just get this done I'm sorry but if Toews Seebrook Keith etc can't pull their wait sit them I'm tired of seeing half ass effort from professional athletes if they can't perform retire but this is absolutely embarrassing it's been a long time since the Hawks looked this bad but put players in the lineup that actually care and put forth an effort that deserves playing time Toews and Seebs shouldn't be playing at all at this point management should be giving refunds for such a bad product. There's been a fair amount of recent lament on here over the Panarin for Saad and Forsberg trade. Remember that Panarin allegedly said he didn't really get up for the playoffs, but he did get up for competing for Russia on the international stage. What's a GM to do when someone says that, assuming the context is how many of us read it? Maybe Stanley could have made a better trade, but it's hard to argue wanting to keep someone who allegedly claimed a lack of interest at playoff time.

Tonight's Tank Watch:

Buffalo and Montreal -possible points available here and both teams playing decently lately

Wings, Rangers, Canucks, and Ottawa -would require upsets, but out of 4 could gain a point or 2

- 67hawks

Not a bad tank night:
Montreal, Rangers, and Ottawa -2 points each
Vancouver -1 point

A "problem" I'm sure they're thrilled to have. Taking a non-English speaking player's quote and then using so much inference to degrade his motivation/character is completely unfair IMO.

The only "problem" involved in the trade is that the Hawks now have a $6million 34 point winger on the books for another 3 years. But hey, "cost certainty" am I right???

Saad has been atrocious and Panarin is an Elite talent that deserves every dollar he gets on his next contract.

The dragging of ex-Hawks through the mud immediately after they are traded is a pretty consistent theme here. Minutes after Hartman was traded all of a sudden he was a problem in the locker room with attitude issues.....

Cost certainty may be a bargain should Saad.be located on a line that clicks. To that end i would like to see Toews challenged to be a shutdown center with Saad and Highmore skating ad wings. This allowd Kampf to be a center whom outplays the opponent's 4th.line center. I would love to see Knott and Sinkula's brother round out the 4th line. Hayden can go to line #2..Now when you establish lines #1' & 2 you do so with at least one high draft choice who has grit

I expect (hope?) for Saad to be much better next season. Toews is extremely disappointing as he has been far from an impact player most nights. His 3 season trend is not encouraging for next year, either. But, we as fans should pray that Hossa comes back rejuvenated like 40yr old Jagr did for a nice couple years of Top 6 hockey before the wheels fell off this year. Hossa obviously made his linemates (19+20) look a lot better... It should be interesting to watch 20-19-88 this afternoon as the other dominant RW of the 3 cups can still carry a line.

Dean Lombardi as a possible GM replacement. Granato would be my pick for HC.
- z1990z

I would choose Paul Fenton as my GM and Sheldon Keefe as the HC.

I know Justin mentioned that there is a reason why the Hawks wouldn't pick Keefe, but if they want a coach that can coach young kids up he is at the top of the list. There wouldn't be a country club atmosphere in the locker room with him at the helm.

I replace the GM First

1. Julien BriseBois- Tampa Bay Asst GM
2. Paul Fenton- Nashville Asst GM

Make Dean Lombardi President Hockey Opps

- Colbyboy

I like these options, especially Dean Lombardi.
What about Colliton to replace Q, or Granato as HC with Colliton as an assistant?

If the Hawks pick 6-9, what are the odds we get an NHL ready player? If we get a player that's a year away, are we a lottery team again next year? That may not be a bad thing, since the last time we had back to back years of high picks, we got Toews and Kane.

I do not disagree. But it is only fair to note Panik and Hartman are both gone and there was public less than optimal discourse. Hartman wrote his own ticket.

Well, who could forget his celebration when he got the goal to get him his bonus? That was not speaking Russian. Deep down, there is only 1 thing on his mind.....and winning is not one of them.

There's nothing wrong with the trade. Saad had a poor offensive season. Don't know the reason, but i suspect it had something to do between the players and Q. However, Saad is still very good defensively. If panarin (and Kane) isn't scoring, he's useless. You would think that with the 85 bears and Jordan and the bulls that people from chicago would realize that defense wins championships. I still remember in 83 when the high-flying Oilers went to the finals against and Islander team that played good defense. Nobody had the Islanders winning. Not only did they win, but they swept them.

Some needed changes to include a new HC may do wonders for many on this team.

I would keep Colliton as head coach in Rockford. He seems to be doing a great job with player development down there so let him continue for a few years or until management can find someone to replace him who is just as good if not better at player development. Who knows, maybe management has candidates in mind already.

My money would be on Granato being head coach of the Hawks if that person was an internal hire. If it's not Granato, then I feel they will search outside. Just don't see Dineen or Samuelsson being promoted.

The odds that we get a player a year or two before he makes our lineup are greater than that for a player who comes in next year and makes a real difference.

On another note, please relocate Florida Panthers. It's pathetic to see highlights of their games with mostly empty seats. They have some nice young talent and are making a push for the playoffs, but it's crickets in their stadium. Move them to where someone likes hockey.
