There is absolutely no way either Q or Bowman should be back. I didn't watch today's game. If I didn't watch (by choice), the viewership of Hawks games must be nose diving. This team is an absolute trainwreck 100% of the blame on Stan Bowman. Awful contracts to veterans, awful trades, and poor drafting on defense. Bowman needs to be fired, yesterday.

There should be change, but realistically I don’t expect either to go.

Obviously the summer is best spent as Stanley Cup Champions, but summer will still be very interesting. I know Stan said there would be minimal changes, but he needs to overhaul the defense. Keith is the only guy I’d want back 100%, Seabrook and Murphy will likely be back too. Everyone else can go as far as I’m concerned. Maybe Rutta or Oesterle return as the 7D, but even then I’d like to see him in Rockford. Forsling might be an option, but I don’t expect Jokiharju to be NHL ready.

I thought Hartman would have been dealt for help on defense. We should expect a trade to help defense, it could cost a good young forward.

The Toews-Kessler fight just seemed peculiar, avoidable, non-impactful. Both have helmets and face shields. Risk breaking up hands. Toews shouldn’t fight as he is simply not strong enough. He looked small, skinny and weak during the fight and especially so when he was shown in the Penalty Box. Kessler may be an A-List A-Hole but he is still built solid - Toews doesn’t look solid.

Also Kessler sucks. Don’t fight him - beat him down the ice and score. I suspected the fight wouldn’t have an effect on the team and it didn’t. In fairness what effect should it have? Toews fought a guy with all of 8 points hardly the most feared player. Kessler played Toews getting him to fight. Toews admitted he was goaded post-game. Toews has been odd all year - he has been whiny in interviews. He really hasn’t shown any leadership on or off the ice - if the C wasn’t on his jersey you’d never guess he was the Captain.

Can’t believe there isn’t questions about Toews. Of course there are questions when he is paid 10.5M and doesn’t produce - from management and from within the locker-room.

Adam Burish talking about Hinostrosa as his "high flying Hawk" today. "Atta boy Vinny, drag those boys with ya"………….Hilarious

- BobP.

I found this really bizarre as I didnt think Vinny played well at all losing the puck a lot and making incredibly bad passes that wildly missed their targets. Vinny’s speed is only an attribute when he plays within himself and not like he is another Patrick Kane.

I really hope you're wrong, both Stan and Q need to go. At the deadline, this braintrust (Q and Stan both) took a look at this mess and concluded that Kempny was worse than Oesterle and Gus and Hartman should go but Duclair and Jurco deserved spots. It's either high-level tanking or poor talent evaluation, draw your on conclusions.

It's going to a long road back to Cup contention. Need to get an entire first line, an entire defense core, and a backup goalie. That takes 5 years, if not more.

LOL. I don't think Vandy necessarily would like Toews fighting. He would use Toews fighting as an example on why the Hawks need to add goons to the team...so THEY can fight...to "change momentum" of the game yada yada yada. Vandy is hanging onto a past that he's simply never going to get back. I feel sorry for him.

I’ll find him bogey! Glad to see what the captain did, but I’ll repeat for the hundredth time what Jamal Mayers had stated in the post game, and he name two players and probably Brent Seabrook should’ve been in that group also but someone should’ve had something to say to Mr. Kessler the next time he hit the ice. I’m not going to beat a dead horse but I’m also not for whatever it is these guys are calling their self today. As far as hockey players. I give two craps about how many Stanley cups we won in the last 10 years, I enjoyed them also but give me the good ole time Hockey any day over this pathetic crap this 2017 and 18 team is playing. Anybody should’ve remembered back in the day if you were getting your ass handed to you and embarrassed or someone embarrassed one of your star players, you had guys that would step up and have something to say, whether it be running someone, a stage fight , or calling someone out the next whistle. It showed that you had players on the team that had each other‘s back. I will argue this till the day I am not on this earth anymore when it comes to the sport.
People can see Gary Bettman grew the game, but then he should have an ex player that actually played the game to be in charge of the day to day operations of how the game should be played. And I don’t mean the department of player safety. I’ll see it for the millionth time, get rid of the instigator rule and you watch a lot of the cheap crap will stop.

in all honesty, i only saw about half of today's debacle. Happened to be walking past the tv when Konroyd, Mayers, and last but not least Burish were giving their spiel. it was more the way he said it that caught my ear. As if he was "sending" a message to the rest of the team. i think he was complimenting Vinny mostly on his hustle, as others here have pointed out before, while at the same time pretty much telling the rest of them to man up. Now he didn't actually say the last part, but if you read "between the lines" of what he was saying. i think Burish is disgusted at the effort he's seeing put forth, especially since he played with "the Core".

I am still waiting for someone to say something to Nick Ritchie for that sucker punch he threw at Rozsival last year that ended Rozsival's career. Remember when Jamal Mayers attacked that coward who ended Hossa's year. It happened the following year but there was retribution.
Right now there are no consequences for opposing players. With other teams those consequences are usually immediate and if they cannot do it within that game, you know that business will be taken care of at the beginning of the game the next time they meet.
Why am I concerned about this? Because teams know they can have their way with us and it may cost us the career of one of our better players.

Don’t take it personal, but quit spinning it. The Blackhawks are a bunch a KHUNTTS! Has nothing to do with the captain.

So all those super awkward post game celebrations between Toews and Panarin in which A.P. always looked shoked was team building. Can not put my finger on it but something is up!

That was not retribution. That was a dog and pony show spectacle on every level. A total joke. They should have sent Bollig out to deal with Torres if it was REAL retribution. Nope, it was a staged fight between a couple middle weights (probably even discussed by Tippett and Q before that game) so meatheads could get their jollies of the grand ole' game has lost none of its luster and was the only sport where the players "policed themselves". LMMFAO.

I do not think Q or Bowman will be gone. Rocky and McD are ultra loyal and will give them another year. But Ulfie might go. Does anyone have a clue what our D is trying to do? We have 4 D that think they are forwards or are in a no check league. Fire Ulfie and bring in an experienced D coach that can combine physicality and puck moving. Some who requires taking the body and clearing our crease. Anyone want to recommend a few candidates. Must have NHL experience. Must have success coaching a defense at the NHL level. Must be able to develop with younger and relate to older players.

Team doesn't need new D coach, they need new D. Only Keith would play any kind of role above bottom pair on a playoff team and that's being generous. The Hawks have one of the worst defensive groups in the NHL.
