I do not understand why everyone is so excited about this 1st rounder either if you consider where that pick will occur. - 67hawks
No, but the value now is we take that pick along with our #1 (12th?) and try and trade up in the draft. |

Wondering if Anisimov will get moved at the deadline or draft |

The guy they got is 22 year old Swedish Center, 6'5, 220 - kwolf68
Ok, hopefully he plays hard and not like Svedberg. I still remember 2 seasons ago in a game against the Blues when, behind the play, while skating up the ice ,Steve Ott was following Victor Svedberg up the ice cross checking him repeatedly in the back and gave Svedberg a " 3stooges kick in the ass". To boot, and Svedberg did nothing, neither did his team mates. Talk about being made a fool of on your own home ice??? |

Once I saw the type of player Ejdsell is, my immediate thought went to Anisimov. No doubt he will be moved this summer. |

If we can land Sikura then we have a decent pipe line of young forwards on the way.
Hayden
Highmore
Sikura
Fortin
Edjsell
I'm sure I'm missing someone on that list. |

Because it's a first anf a 4th, plus a huge forward who is close to NHL ready for Ryan Hartman, who has 9 goals. |

If they are sold on Edjsell. They may try to move AA and Rutta or Franson for a Dman. - -Doh-

Maybe sooner. If they have a trade in place that moves AA to a contender now, he might agree to waive his NMC. To Philly for a Dman + + ? |

For anyone that thinks this is a bad deal the Hawks got the same return for Ryan Hartman that the Blues got for Stastny....solid deal for the Hawks here

Nobody cares about being made a fool of. It's Steve Ott. He's trying to bait people in to a fight and take them off the ice. Nothing more. Fights win you literally nothing. |

TRADE ALERT: Hartman plus Hawks' 5th Rd pick in 2018 to Nashville for 1st RD pick in 2018 plus Victor Edjsell plus 4th Rd pick in 2018
JL Thoughts: really impressed Stan was able to get a 1st rounder out of him. There were rumours that Hartman was "difficult" at times and was falling out of favour with Coach Quenneville.
Victor Edjsell could be a sneaky good pick up by Stan as well.
As per Dobberhockey - here is the breakdown on the hulking Swede forward = https://dobberprospects.com/victor-ejdsell/ - Justin Lowe
This was an easy one to sign off on. Even if it was Nashville

With this trade with the Preds, I would. See if we can pry Sanheim away from Philly. |

Hartman is cost controlled and way cheaper.
Stastny is a rental and had a full NMC
Not really apples to apples...
But I see your point, we can't bash Bowman for this one |
|
|
|
Let's not forget Hartman was a 1st rounder , and I think will be a 20 goal scorer with grit .
Too bad things went sideways here.
Stan better get some grit this off season.
Tired of the Hawks being such a soft team . |

One thing this trade tells us is that Q is not going anywhere next season. At least that is my feeling on it.

A First Round pick is a First Round pick. Drafts seem deeper now with players developing quicker before the Draft. I was initially one of Hartman’s supporters but the constant controversy and stupid penalties made me crazy. So the very last play that Hartman made in a Hawks’ uniform was taking a penalty so stupid that it was mind-numbing.

The same band is back together. Bowman and Q...one bad year won't be enough to move anyone out. And as much issue as I have with both GM and Coach, I think the scenario to stay the course with them has merit. |

That was about the best Bowman was going to get for 38. Heard just now things had gotten so bad that he'd "made his desire to leave known" |

With this Hartman transaction, Q is buying Stanbo a dozen donuts from DD as a thankyou. If Connor Murphy gets moved too, he's upgrading his thankyou to a full dinner. |
