You guys are a hoot with your "get er done Stan"
What playoff bound team is trading a top 4D or top 6F heading into playoffs for AA or Hartman?
Let me save you u the time, NOBODY!!!!!!
Any Hockey trade for those guys is happening in the off season. otherwise, you'll have to settle for a 1st in the 25-30 range and a "prospect" along the lines of
Dahlstrom.
Stan makes that trade and y'all complain he got fleeced, Stan no t make that trade then y'all can complain he doesn't do anything at TD. At least you have your bases covered.
The only good thing about trade deadline chatter is there is a reprieve from lamenting leddy traded away

He's gotta go Mr P. his moves this season alone (how bout an actual nhl backup goalie for starters...but if you want to track back to starting with Leddy in 14 and Sharp in 15 and go from there.

I'm waiting until the Yotes deal Hammer for a 1st and prospect to the bolts or the flyers...(while we got Murphy)...I'm thinkin' people are going to lose it here...

Sounds like an all out bidding war between golden knights and sharks for Karlsson. Maybe another couple teams involved.

Well, like all young teams with loads of talented kids in the system, eventually the Jets will have to deal with deciding on which key ones they re-up and which go elsewhere. And the second thing is that some players around the league think Winnipeg is located north of Siberia and would rather play elsewhere. Trouba is probably one of them, but for now he has no stroke as an RFA. One thing about Winnipeg tho, they love their sports teams and support them and any event that comes into the city. Terrific sports town. So Mr. R, if you want to see the Winnipeg Goldeyes play baseball in the summer against a team like the Wichita Wingnuts you better have a ticket because they are sold out every night.

The Jets, love watching them. Big, fast, quick, lots of nasty and they have worked very hard on cutting out the needless, stupid penalties they were known for (like #38 took last night). They walked into St. Louis and Dallas this week and wamped them both. Blew 5 by the Dallas goalie in the 2nd period last night, thought Hitchcock was going to lose his mind. Would love to see a Winnipeg - Nashville series. Would not be easy for the Preds.

They don't need AA in the middle, they've got centers galore - Scheifele, Little, Perrault, Lowry, Copp, Roslovic, Petan, Hendricks, Petan. And Blake Wheeler was outstanding when he switched to center while Scheifele was on IR. And I don't think Chevy wants to tinker too much with what he has right now, but he was chasing Bressard apparently.

I could see them being interested in a depth D man and maybe another goaltender just in case Mason is done for the season. That's it.

And if you can pick up their games somehow on TSN, they are worth watching.

Assuming the Hawks finish out of the play-offs the Jets will play exactly one Series more than the Hawks this year.

With the schedule the Hawks have the rest of the year, I could easily see them getting passed by Edm, NYR and Det to end up with the 6th worst record. Then all we need is a little luck in the lottery.

Well we got a little help tonight Wings beat the Rangers 3-2 in OT. Edmonton and Ducks headed to OT. Sabres beat the Bruins 4-1.

Update Oilers beat the Ducks in a SO.

All is real quiet on my end (well other than a screaming baby). I'm preparing for a few moves tomorrow but none that are earth shattering.

I will have a new blog live tomorrow AM that will act as a live thread for the day. I will be updating what I hear and chatter from others.

See you guys on the other side.

Edm tried to lose, giving up two goals in the final 21 seconds, but McJesus secures the win in the shootout!

Yes a great tank night. The Oilers almost blew it for us. More to come as 2 tank teams, Canucks and Coyotes, are playing each other so guaranteed 2 points and hopefully 3.

Hearing the San Jose Sharks are making a serious push for Erik Karlsson. Bobby Ryan’s possible inclusion a major stumbling block for the Sharks.

i don't see it happening...those teams have their share of problems to go on any type of win streak...

the hawks will muddle along an split their final games...

i don't see them any lower than the 7th spot...

Question: what would it take to move up a few spots
And
Do you like any players enough (beside Tzachuk and Dahlin) to trade up?

Those non playoff teams also have to play each other. As I noted earlier the Hawks have only 2 tank teams on their schedule. The rest of the schedule is tough.
After that post I checked the schedules of the other teams we need to overtake. All of them have 5-6 such games. One of them has to take 2 points (hopefully 3 points come out of these games).

When the seller has the upperhand, yes force your trade partner to take someone you don't want [Ryan].

Also
Changing topic
Isn't Henrique (Anaheim Ducks) similar to Anisimov in both are skill but average skaters? Actually Henrique is one year younger. Is he a solid two way and better at face off?

This might actually be one of those places (if true) where we could get involved with a lot of extra cap space as a third party if Crawford goes on LTIR. Not sure if San Jose can absorb those cap hits (or potential hit related to resigning Karlsson).

I still would be pretty surprised if Karlsson is traded.

Hey gang - no updates this morning. It's been weirdly quiet from the Blackhawks.

Let's see what that translates into... maybe Stan is quietly working on something huge.

Yeah Bogie...sadly I think you're right. With McD and his man crush on Scotty - lil' bowman will be safe. But the damage has been done. We've seen the moves of Stan and company going back here to the Leddy and Sharp trades - to quote JJ - Stan was 'thoroughly fleeced' on both those moves. Especially the Sharp fiasco and how it and the moves made that summer effected this team moving forward. IF Sharp is moved for picks at the draft its a different ball game...as well as a Bickell buyout which didn't happen either. Of course Bicks costing you Teuvo eventually. With both of those moves who knows what happens with Saad/Oduya. It has continued from there.

With this last offsesason another series of bad moves. Not necessarily made for the betterment of the current club, but for cost control moving forward.

We've seen the models so far of both the Kings and Pens - they blew it up and brought in a new GM and coach. As mentioned the Seabrook contract - it sure looks like McD had his hands on this one - a la Soriano with the Cubs (McD bidding against himself) is just brutal and another roster killer.

Personally I'd go get a proven GM who's well respected and let him decide Q's fate. But this is where the lines blur - how much does McD meddle on the hockey side of things and what GM is going to want to deal with that.

Sad that draft position is the only thing to look forward to now for the Hawks. The problem is the NYR and Habs are approaching the tank seriously. Habs are shutting down guys and the Rangers are launching anyone that does not have long term value.
