Karma just means cause and effect, not cosmic justice, so if the Habs were to keep Bergevin they would be more likely to win the draft lottery due to his bad decisions. |

PLUS: Speaking of gainful employment, I work all day in an office and I’m starting to have really explicit fantasies about becoming a mailman. I just want to work out side and walk around all day.
Me too. |

Using your Vezina criteria then John Gibson should win ina landslide. He played most of the first half of the season with the San Diego Gulls in front of him. He's the only reason the Ducks have a chance to get in the playoffs, |

amazes me that gormley, rundblad, and fransn are not in the nhl. Thats 3 top 4 dman any team can use.
James it was a very original blog. |

I wouldn't cut Lias Andersson. Sportsmanship is a word people who aren't playing use to make themselves feel good about the world
I have never, and I mean never, seen or heard an elite athlete say that they were OK they lost because they are still good sports |

LOL
But seriously though. You see that from time to time, where an athlete drops their mask for a moment and aren't "good sports," and inevitably, someone who isn't actually playing has an idea about what should happen to the person who was playing
The reason I have never quite understood that is that in life, no one has ever told me that it was OK to finish second, third, whatever. I didn't always win, but never did anyone tell me that being a "good sport" was an acceptable alternative
I can promise this: My boss isn't making time for me to tell him that it's OK for our direct rival to beat us on the project I am leading because I will be a good sport, because he'll be busy looking for my replacement who doesn't lose
Maybe the world will be different when we stop telling people to be good sports but instead to compete fairly and honestly but to hate to lose more than you like to win |

Yeah but if there is a setback you shouldn't throw a tantrum like a child either. |

Agreed, but at some point, humans are humans and we don't always do what we could. We don't always put on our best face.
He didn't slew-foot someone in the dying seconds, didn't two-hand anybody, run someone from behind.
He flipped the silver medal over the glass. The only thing hurt is someone's feelings and ideas about someone else's behavior
Not sure that means you should get cut from international play |

MINUS: Everyone overrates the Lightning. They aren’t that good.
Explain please. Their wins, goals for/against and points tell me they are rated #1 for good reason. Also, if not them or 2nd overall points leader in Vegas who you also claim to be overated, please tell then who are the top 2 teams in the league. Would like your opinion but don't make me laugh. |

I agree that I wouldn't cut him over it, but I'd let him know he can conduct himself better next time. |

Taylor ain’t winning the Hart. But he should be up there in votes.
Chia is a moron. Anyone with a brain knew that years ago.

Agreed. Hall has been great. Getting some more skill around him has helped. Right now my Hart pick would Mackinnon. |

"MINUS: Everyone overrates the Lightning. They aren’t that good...
"MINUS: ...Andre Vasilesky is ranked as the #1 goalie this year, and I think he’d probably win the Vezina if it was voted on today. But what people don’t seem to account for is the strength of the team. If the Lightning had pretty much any goalie, they’d be fine."

Holy crap Tanner. I love you. And you're probably my favorite hockey writer to read if I'm being honest with myself. And it's partly because of this kind of cognitive dissonance. But how in the hell do you write both of these items in the same blog? |

James,
Could I get your insight on Dan Girardi's resurgence?
Any chance it has to do with zone starts?

Also lets not discount your boy Chaka passing on Franson!
Seems as if Franson was as good as you think that someone that thinks outside the box might be able to see the talent there, Then again Franson is just not as good as you think. So there is that! |
