Frustrating game in a lot of ways but it was nice that they showed some resolve and got it tied up. Will this Kreider stick around or does he go back to invisible soon? |

missing their best dman and best forward, go down by 3 to end the 1st...
thats a strong game and the big boys (Kreids, Hayes and Buch) came to play
Holden should have to sit after that game if Mac is good to go, I mean AV would do that with and other dman not named Staal or Mac |

I think harping on calls, gets you nowhere. You can kick and scream all you want but it isn't going to change things, and playing the perpetual victim and saying life isn't fair wont help. It is waht it is they got the shaft, gotta move one. The tied it up
I was most upset by Nick Holden's brain fart / lack of urgency at the end of the game. Which was EXACTLY why he got roasted in the second half of the season last year. AV seemed to always have him and Staal out on the ice as a pair in the last 2min of the game and when they were out there it was a tire fire. I saw that again last night. He half hearted his clearing attempt instead of going hard up the boards and then just went through the motions getting back into coverage, trying to make up for it and the puck was in the back of the net.

Jan Levine: Game 25: FLA 5 NYR 4, Rangers rally only to lose late, hurt by no-goal call
Screw the Rangers button in effect again but too many missed early doom team - airjan23
Good blog Jan.
I have defended Holden a lot, but last night he was bad. Same with Smith.
There are some wins you throw out the tape and be glad you got the 2 points(Vancouver), and then there are some losses you can take a lot of positives from into the next game(Florida). |

What stands out more than all of Jans Points ..all on pt .
Is the lack of depth down the middle with zbad out & D D on adrenaline
whats the support plan ?
Gotta see how good we are with the mid man we must get BEFORE an injury
occurs and we lose leverage an position...
J T is a great wing in the making but wanna limit his mid man slot work
he is a great fall back to play center just not daily.....
Like Stumpner filling in ..here there okay ,too many times you see the warts
Now must trade a solid guy Holden for a 3rd line center with skill
OR go big and make the R N H move with Mac...
Nailed the 4th line : Boo Carey Fast : loved there energy control 2 way game ,size ,speed ,grit....
also saw another line i said to keep together after Van.
Hayes nash Vesey have alot of chem 101 stuff goin on
WE GOT THE 3 LINES TO PLAY NOW ....
Z bads line
Hayes line
Boos line
J T Grabs & get a decent man & we will have insurance at least and not
D D to rely on....how many 3 pt gms will he have versus him giving up....
how many goals was D D on the ice against for: ???probably 2 -3 ?
anyway MAcs back fri ,Trade Holden and get insurance BEFORE ...
OR make that big bold move and sell top D to get top Center...
Pitt would a had this done & wrapped before Thanks giving .....
Model for react - evaluate - implement.... 2 cups proves it
STOP SITTIN ON YOUR HANDS ....GORTS ...MAKE A MOVE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE

we supposedly have the depth down Conn way to absorb a move from the
D corps to help upgrade the middle..
I have traded virtually every D man in every scenario who could be possible moved
this started the min they traded Step & lsot Oscar....
when are they gonna complete the team and make the move to propel then into the top 10 of possible cup winners ...I dont see that now ....
2 18 yrs old aint riding in from Sweeden & Conn to make it all better soon
maybe next yr or should i give everyone some stories form the bros Grim..... |

Yes FL played the night before, but it wasn't like they had a long flight after the game to get to NYC.
Anyway, I think the Rangers did dominate long stretches of the game. After one period, it could easily have been tied 3-3, if not a Ranger lead. Reimer made a lot of big saves throughout the game, especially in the last minute or so of the second period. It's not often that a goalie gives up four and still could be a star of the game. FL still needs to get the D sorted out.
The goalie interference/no goal call was terrible. FL's coach even said he was surprised by it. |

The refs just need to get that sorted out. I would hate to see a team, any team, lose a game in the playoffs because of a call like that. |

I know.
That cup was destined to go to LA.
Kreider had like 4 breakaways. Nash hits a shaft of a stick on an open net. |

Smith-Holden is as bad as Staal-Holden, I’d rather see Graves and Pionk or Tony D in the lineup than Holden and Kampfer |

The refs AND the league have to get this sorted out. We touched on all the things that are wrong with it last night. The rules are so debatable, the call should have been obvious on a play like that and then, when you challenge the SAME GUY that blew the call in the first place has the say as to whether he admits that he blew it in front of 20,000 people. What a joke of a system. Every challenge should go straight to Toronto and let the half dozen guys with every angle of video and no personal interest at stake make the call. How have the GM's not brought this up among all the minutia they debate every year? |

I thought Kampfer had an alright game. Didn't blow the doors off, but I didn't see too many errors that really cost them. |

Officiating is and has been bad. This is not new.
These starts go back 3 years now. THAT once again is what lost the game and i think is being overshadowed by the officiating. Im (frank)ing tired of it. You cant bring playoff intensity over 82 games, i get that, but come the (frank) on. When is it going to be enough? Sure Zib was an unexpected scratch, but this team doesnt get the benefit of the doubt anymore. It takes being 2 to 3 goals down before they start playing?! (frank) that. |

Legitimately good teams find a way to win games like this. Florida will likely have another lottery pick, so if the Rangers believe or you believe in the Rangers as a team that has a legit shot they have to win games like this.
Last night was a perfect storm against the rangers. Lundqvist likely fatigued, a bad bounce to start early, struggle to start early and poor defensive play. Also and probably most importantly, they don't have a capable back up goalie. |

seems like this is always a sentiment after a loss like that.
not speaking towards you, but if they did win it would be some reverse opinion that yeah they won but florida is a likely lottery pick blah blah blah.
i think last night was, as you said a perfect storm against between the zib scratch, tough bounce and bad disallowed goal.
they have some days off here. i fully expect a rebound friday. |

If they had completed the comeback, everybody would have the right to celebrate that. That's tough to do in the NHL. But it seems like the Rangers frequently have to climb out of deep holes due to them giving up early goals in bunches.
Selfishly I hope Zibanejad is back by Friday. I cannot afford to be without 3 centers on my fantasy team. |
