It seems like forever RW has been lacking in terms of quality production for the Panthers. Now with Dadonov and Vrbata penciled in on the top two lines, things are looking up in Sunrise.

Apparently replacing JAM, Smith, and Jokinen with Dadonov and Vrbata is good?

Absolutely not. I'd rather Demers over Gudbranson all day. But I ask you... can you name 8 teams we are ahead of in the Eastern Conference? In the league?

Dan- Vrbata was signed to give Tippett one year in the Juniors. He's the place holder for him. Dadanov and Haapala have already been penciled in on the first and second lines, respectfully. You probably have Mamin on the third line. Two guys with no NHL or even North American experience and Dadanov who hasn't been here in five years.

It's bleak right now. And if Huberdeau or Barkov get injured, it's finished. A guy named "Repo" will be our first forward call up if there's an injury.

Almost the entire lineup is pencil. There are no absolutes. I'm not assuming anything. But no goal scorers of any kind will be left out of the lineup.

This team is a bottom 5 team. They will start the season worse than last year. If Tipp can't make this roster then it will be apparent that they missed yet again with a top 10 pick. Add this kid to this list: '

Barkov, Huby and Ekblad are included as well because these guys have not shown they are franchise type players. Barkov can't stay healthy, Huby is inconsistent and Ekblad is going to go down as one of the worst 1st overall selections in the last 10 years.

No idea if this is sarcasm or not. Are you guys really that down on the guy after last season. Didn't watch him play at all last year but his rookie season he looked like he might be the best D prospect of the last decade. Love to have him on the leafs.

It was his 3rd season and he was mostly let down by a low on ice sh% and a 96.5 PDO. Still a number 1 D just probably not an elite 1 D everyone thought he would be.

Also has played in less games year after year. Concussion will probably end his career short which is sad but it's a possibility. Only in South Florida.

He is still young...and since you have the facts and I, like most hockey fans, don't go out of my way to watch Panthers games, has he been put in a position to succeed? Or is he, a top 21, being asked to be a top pair D?

The problem with Ekblad are his concussions. He's had 4 in the last 2 seasons. Last season he was brought back WAY too early and was taken out of the line up because of it. I think he'll be alright in terms of bouncing back, but the team needs to take care of him properly, or he's going to get hit one night and that'll be the end of it.
