Both are pretty much spare parts. Really only need one

I'm fine with Quine as an extra forward or even 4th line. No PP time or anywhere near the top 6.

As has been said many, many times here - the problem is the organization misuses spare or extra players by giving them significant ice time.

Yes they are very similar I think I keep quines over Prince but prefer neither. I think Baral definitely boots one of them

Exactly Jimmy. They also have no set roles. No checking line to put out against the other teams top line. The Isles need two scoring lines and a checking line and an energy line for the 4th.

Nothing definitive, but sense coming out of today is that #CBJ RW Sam Gagner and D Kyle Quincey will test free agency this summer.

Tavares and Gagner are good friends. You know what that means.

When this is all done, the Isles will be renamed after Johnny.

I get the feeling people think John Tavares is a UFA this summer.. He isn't a UFA. He is an Islander for another year unless they decide to trade him.

Nah they just know the isles have to move him if he won't commit long term on July 1st.

No, but if he won't commit to a new contract they absolutely have to move him before next season. Letting him play out the year would be an abject disaster.

If Quine was a baseball player he would be considered a AAAA player. Not good enough for MLB and a little better than AAA...

That might not be such a bad pickup. He did have 18 goals this year...could keep Tavares happy...

We already kept around a coach and a GM he likes to keep him happy. At some point they have to stop kissing his ass.

Grabner had a lot of goals this year too, I'm not dying to sign him either. I think this year was an outlier for Gagner (and Grabner).

Didn't he have like 15 of those in the first 3 months of the season?

I really hope we can do better than Gagner. There needs to be a point when Isles have to stop doing things just for JT.

Quine had 5 goals, 13 assists and was -2 in 61 games. Unimpressive, but his cap hit was only $612,500. Since you can't pay $6 million+ to all your players, you need guys who will play for under a million per season in a hard cap league. IF USED PROPERLY AS A DEPTH FORWARD, Quine is adequate. On the Isles, of course, that's a big "IF".....

I'd have to really consider moving Barzal and/or Ho-Sang if this guy really is available. I feel though he's not going anywhere.
