As a flyer fan you should really pray to god that you get a real goaltender and that your endless prospect pool delivers someone to help you for more than a year before they start to suck.

I think this will be a close series. 27 out of 31 NHL.com writers have the Rangers winning. Although, they also had many writers saying Montreal over the Rangers and Boston over Ottawa.
I think both teams are underrated and misunderstood. Nash is playing very good for the Rangers as well as King Henric. But, let's be honest there is a new King in town and that is Karlsson. This guy is one of the greatest defenseman of the past 50 years and he is only getting better. He will be on the ice half the game and will dictate the play. He is that good. Thus, if he stays healthy this series Sens win. If the Rangers injure him, Rangers win.

Very good right up. But I really think the only way the sens extend the series past 5 or6 games is if the rangers become frustrated with the trap and the sens capitalize on those mistakes. Still think rangers in 5 or 6 tops also big advantage to rangers in goal and offense.

He's good but but not good enough to tilt the series to the sens. And I don't think anybody on the rangers would try to injure him intentionally

I think that most Rangers fans will underestimate this Sens team. The Sens also have 4 lines and match up well against the Rangers. Plus, MacArthur coming back adds another top 6. Also, Montreal lacked good scoring chances vs Lunquist. I think he will get lit up this series.

Going to be an series, and it could go either way, can't wait to get it started! Could be a game of inches, you know Hoffman and Turris will be trying to snipe just inside the bar on Hank, which is the best way to beat him since he plays deeper in his net, I predict either a good amount of goals from those guys, or with some bad luck, alot of iron!

If Karlsson can stay reasonably healthy then it is anyone's series, same goes for Andy limiting any awful goals against. (He played well against BOS but he'll need to be even better.)

Lastly any time Dan Girardi is playing on a top pair, you want to exploit that tire fire as much as you can.

Looking forward to a long, close, stressful series

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think the Sens are a statistical anomaly and regular season stats mean nothing. They went through so much change in one season and are only now close to full strength and able to gel. Think about all the now-regulars that weren't playing for the Sens before October: Condon, Brassard, Pyatt, Wingles, Kelly, MacArthur, Harpur, Stalberg, Burrows. Then the key players that missed significant time: Methot (14 games), Anderson (approx. 15), Stone (11), Ryan (20) , Borowiecki (12). Throw in the new coaching staff and the new system, the new GM, a rotating door of prospects in and out of the lineup, and there is no way to be sure what to expect from the Sens in these playoffs. Ottawa has a really good team and underestimating them would be unwise.

I'm really excited that we made it to the second round and of course I have to support my team. However, the Rangers are a pretty awesome side too and i think, at this point anyway, that I will not be too disappointed if they defeat us. It's not going to be a cakewalk for either team. EK65 and the Sens are capable of moments of pure domination and brilliance, but momentum is a fickle mistress and they can just as quickly collapse into a gong-show of a mess. It's really too close to call and, as I've stated elsewhere, don't even bother citing anything the media says as they all have their head's up their a$$es.

Both these teams are really fast and we could be in for some great skilled hockey. I just hope we get a clean and civilized series that doesn't degenerate into the ugly stuff either on and off the ice. AV has already stated somewhere that they need to 'do something' about EK65 and I hope that doesn't mean exploit the foot or try to injure, etc. Conversely I love BoroCop's left wing hit's but please please keep it clean and avoid the head-shots, two-hand slashing, boarding etc. etc.

Good luck to both sides - Sens in 6.

Listen... I get you guys picking your team to win but to say you will lite up hank is just stupid! While Anderson is good hank is much much better long or short history he will be in the hof cup or no cup. Imho sens offense is no where near the rangers and for one of your bloggers to call rangers offense which was number four to your 22 is asinine. So good luck but rangers in 6 maybe 5

Both teams play a different style + our offense underperformed all year. I give the offensive advantage to NYR but not by as much as your fanbase seems to think so. Getting MAC back was huge and adding Burrows and Stalberg changed the dynamic of the lineup. Its a good match up that will make for a fun series.

I would bet money on NYR converting to a dump and chase.

I agree about the forwards being very close, but i gave NY a edge .We have the edge on the blueline, and they have the edge in nets. Its going to be far closer than most here ,would think.I have us winning our first game 7 and taking a hard fought one

Amazing that you cruised right past the part where Ottawa not only won the season series straight-up, but also the fact that Anderson had a significantly better season than Lundqvist this year. As for the Rangers' "big advantage" in offense, would that be the same group that scored fewer G/GP than the Senators in the first round, went 1-for-15 on the PP, and was led in points by Zibanejad? I'm not sure that's quite the recipe for success that you're making it out to be, particularly since Ottawa has all of their scoring forwards playing together for the first time all season and had a 20%+ PP against what was supposed to be the top PK in the league.

Regardless, this should be a close series between two teams with considerable forward depth, who have both shown they can win big games on the road when necessary. The Rangers will probably get the average pundit's nod, but the Senators have almost defined their season by being underestimated and defying expectations. Personally, I think anyone who thinks this will go less than 6 games either way is underestimating the other team.

Five years later and this is still an awesome highlight reel. I don't know about the Rags, but I think we're a much better team now. Payback. We're gonna get it done this time.

Sens in 6.

please! Take off your homer glasses for just a second. Andersen is good but his body of work doesn't compare to hank. Did he have an off year absolutlely but the regular season doesn't mean much now. Take it easy with the stats against Boston missing 4 regulars all banged up and four of the six games went to ot. Yes sens won but against an inferior opponent.
