Other playoff stats of note:

Blues PK 83.3%, Preds 77.8%
Blues PP 6.7%, Preds 12.5%

In the 8 series in round 1, the team that gave up more shots per game won 7 of them.
Of the top 6 teams in shots per game in round 1, only 5 of them won their series.
2 of the 3 worst teams in shots per game won their series.
In round 1, if you had a positive shot differential you lost 7 of the 8 series. Only Ottawa won.
6 of the bottom 8 scoring teams in round 1 were western conference teams.

Blues in 6 - Preds are going to see a very different team than Hawks - one that is big - skilled - can skate and finish - Allen > Rinne /

Pens over Caps in 6 - Sid & Malkin > Ovi & Backstrom - Leafs exposed many issues with Caps - Pens will take advantage of Caps weak D -

Sens over Rags in 6 - Sens are gelling and played a tougher 1st round series & have better Offense than hapless Habs -

Ducks over Oil in 6 - McJesus will get his but after that - RNH & Eberle pose no threat - and that D is so soft - they got by SJ in 6 w/o anything from Big Joe & Logan - Oil dries up this round -

Jam thanks for the stats breakdown

Hope the bleus keep it up

Keep hearing from people how good Nashville is, they are, but everything the blues do from now on is gravy. This was supposed to be a lost year.

Don't tell the boys in blue that its a lost year.

As always this will be a tough series

Blues should have no problem doing what Chicago was unwilling to. Allen was sensational in round 1. Hawks made Rinne look good, plain and simple. Advantage Blues.

Is Nashville keeping the Blue out as well?

We'll find out tonight how this thing is going to go. I have a feeling Nashville's young roster will come in cocky and get outplayed in this series. LGB!

Having Stastny back for the whole series is going to be huge. Offensive side is going to feel totally different.

Very true, plus 90% of these guys went to the WCF last year. They know what it takes to go deep now. Nashville hasn't been past the 2nd round ever....

Another thing to think of. All of the teams that give us fits (Chi, LA, San Jose, Wpg etc) are no longer in the playoffs. I don't remember that happening ever.

As was pointed out to me last night and I posted in another thread: The last time Blues and Nashville played, it was viewed as the most important game of the season for either team. Winner was all but guaranteed third place in the division. Blues played without Statsny, Sobotka, Lehtera, Gunnarson, or Bortuzzo; meaning they've literally upgraded a quarter of the team since then. And in that must win game, Blues won 4-1.

Yes, that was a big game for us, missing several players, and we won convincingly.

Regular season, so in the end it doesn't matter if the teams play differently now, but I would also take this as a good indicator that Nashville isn't going to just roll over the Blues like many seem to think will happen.

Blues win the series. Expecting it to be a close, long series though....

Man, there are a ton of tickets still not sold for tonight and Friday.

Right now, I am just hoping it sells out. Seems like a tall task though with how many are available, especially for a weekday game.

Sales overplayed their hand. Prices for round 2 are nonsense. 140 for a seat that was 40 in reg season.

Sy what did I say after the five game losing streak when everyone was down?

I said this team is going to surprise all of you, that is was a lot better than most people understand.

Personally, Guru, as soon as Magnus Paaaaaaarvi scored the OT winner i heard your voice in my head.

Just been waiting for you to bust my chops about him being better than i give him credit for.
