Seriously though, a Morin Manning pairing has disaster written all over it.

Happy Morin is finally getting to play. And just play Vecchione already. If they don't play him it will leave question marks for future NCAA players signing with the Flyers.

As much as I want to see Vecchione play and I've disagreed with Hakstol's lineup decisions, I think him wanting the kid to get a few full practices in with the team first before playing him makes sense. Hopefully he lets him suit up on Saturday and Sunday.

Radko Gudas is day-to-day with an upper body injury sustained on a high hit away from the puck by New Jersey's Dalton Prout in Saturday's often-feisty game. Gudas did not play on Sunday. Prout received a two-game suspension from the NHL.

Watching the suspension video, the hit didn't seem that high, but it was extremely dangerous because Gudas had no idea it was coming. Two games was light considering how scathing DOPS were about what Prout did. Four would have been more like it.

In an upcoming Meltzer's Musings blog, I will talk about Mike Milbury's inane criticisms on Sunday of Ron Hextall's slow-and-steady approach to prospect development. A GM-ing critique from the man who may have been the biggest disaster of a general manager not just in his era but the last half century of the NHL is virtually an endorsement than an organization being on the right track. Doing the exact opposite of what Mike Milbury would have done is a good start.

Milbury is all for show. I loved JR as a player and even have a JR jersey but when he and Milbury are on I have to switch the station. One is bad enough but both together? good god

Vechhione is getting over $140,000 for 10 days work. In demand NCAA players like Lyon and Vecchione are going to continue to be happy to sign with the Flyers.

Big Sam is in the show!! I am looking forward to how he does.

I am REALLY looking forward to your take on the Mike Milbury comments. I agree that he may have been the worst GM in the modern era.

I am so sick of guys feeling they need to retaliate for clean hits. Gudas' hit on the devil was clean. and if you do need to retaliate at least challenge the player when he is looking. I agree, 4 would have been more appropriate

Vecchione has never played a shift of pro hockey. I have no issue with letting him get a lot of practice in before his first start.

I will also discuss the frustrations that a significant percentage of fans have expressed with Dave Hakstol's handling of Travis Konencny this season among other issues pertaining to the young players in the organization.

I don't agree with some of the lines TK has been on, but I think the fact he's averaged over 14 minutes a game as an undersized 19 year old is the most important thing. He's had a really strong rookie season, and developed nicely.

Look forward to the upcoming blogs sir.

I am assuming the Konecny piece shall be defending Hakstol in how he's used him, and who he has played with.

Shall make for interesting reactions.

I think it unfortunately almost will become a role for him in the NHL. The go to bruiser/tough guy. Not truly a bad thing, but I hope has becomes more than a Gauthier so to speak.

Guys like Orpik in their prime could also play big minutes.

We have other guys who can defend themselves. We are not a helpless team some fans make us out to be. Weise gudas simmonds schenn Jake bellemare manning etc all have no problem punching people back. I also think hasktol will rope him in like they did gudas. I think his physical impact will hopefully mirror Chara at a younger age. Can fight. Will win 99% of fights but won't be a nightly occurence. Not saying they are similar players just hope he plays with "are responsible edge" to his game.

I'm hoping for Coburn with a mean streak.

I'm praying it's not Luke Schenn 2.0

We know who he has played with and it doesn't really need defending, unless you hate that he's been stuck with the 3C so much.

I almost expected Hagg to be up 1st after the comments they made regarding him being NHL ready. Ahhh well, the enema to this defense core is finally inserted.

Shall be a beautiful sight.
