A year ago I said on the Oilers blog that after Skjei breaks into the league and develops for 2-3 years, there's a chance he's so good that the rangers wouldn't even trade him for Taylor Hall

I think sheltered minutes is a made up term on twitter

but, I think he's out there against much better forwards a lot more every night now

and, I think if they acquired Shattenkirk, he'd have less pressure on him and play a lot more like he did earlier in the season

this is the big picture when I dismiss Corsi so often

a big factor in Corsi stats is who you are out there against

I was being sarcastic, should have said that. Holden likely played over his head earlier in the year and has struggled a bit more than expected lately. With the advanced metrics etc, you can see who each player in on against and how well they fared. Playing on the second pair, Holden will see tougher competition.

As bad as defense looks sometimes and the struggle it is for them to get puck out of their own end I dont think ive ever seen a team deflect as many pucks into their own net whether its poor positioning or just bad luck. Maybe a little of both

good to see we have a few prospects playing well. I think Gropp's #s are a bit inflated due to who he plays with but its good to see that his coach uses him in a # of different positions. should help his overall growth. Gettinger is a sleeper. long shot of making the team but you cant help but see his size and think what if...
