That hit from Trouba was nasty. Hope he gets 4 games minimum!

How he only got a two minute minor for that I don't know. Weak minded refs I guess seeing as they also missed a blatant incident where a Jets player deliberately knocked a stick out of the hand of a Sens player.

NHL should be able to review head shots during game for replay. American college football does it, and I think the CFL does

We'll have to spin the wheel of discipline.

Chief Ref is Charron, a Gatineau Native. He's usually pretty good, young but good. He too made a mistake.

With Ryan out, now is the time to get in on some big trades, continue to build our team and keep our playoff position

Not sure how long the injuries are expected to last, but I think they have to be careful about making a "big name" trade right now, because this situation is like blood in the water. The asking price Dorion will get for the likes of Duchene or Landeskog just went up exponentially, and I suspect that Sharp and Iginla will be key targets for the higher-end playoff teams. Players like Vrbata, Hudler, Parenteau, or Stempniak might fly a bit under the radar and be a better value acquisition.

I fear we may also hear the name Burrows thrown around before the dust settles.

So, what would your line up look like for tomorrow. Who if anyone would you call up from Bingo?

I was trying to do some line Combos and had trouble. This roster looks very weak with Hoffman and Stone out.

Time to give Paul a chance to get some games. Not sure who else.

Dzingel - Brass - Smith
Paul - Turris - Lazar
Pyatt - Pageau - Wingels
Cleasson - Kelly - Neil

If the Sens call Nick Paul up and Wingels gets back for the next game it could look
like this....

I'm racking my brain to try and come up with a compliment here.

if dorion makes a "big" trade in this situation, mortgaging our top prospects in a desperate attempt to stay in the playoff race then he should lose his job instantly.

if stone and hoff are out long term this team should either maintain the status quo (with maybe a little tweek here or there) and try to ride it out until those guys come back.....hoping we're still in a playoff spot at that time. or, they should turn into sellers and move out whoever they can (neil, Kelly, pyatt, wingels, etc.)

I gave up trying. So you're one step ahead of me.

Although I'd put Dzingel with Turris.

It's in those situations we realize how little our depth is. But again, not a lot of team would "survive" losing 3 of there top 6 players

This year started off poorly for Lazar with mononucleosis, which tends to have lingering effects beyond the 6 week recovery. The kid's confidence is shot. He deserves to have the off-season to do a full reset.
My expectations for Lazar is that he can be a capable third liner who contributes about 30 points a year. If you can trade him and get a good return then fine. If not, we should sign him to a 1 year extension.

Bobby Ryan is not a top 6 player on this team unless you are arranging the team by salary. The guy has top 3 skill but minor league effort level. I would put Turris, Stone, Hoffman, Brassard, Smith, Pageau and Dzingel all ahead of Ryan in their net contribution to this team.

They could bring up Jack Rodewald from Bingo. Third in goals since signing a PTO contract.

He's doing better than Paul.

At what point to they need to cut their losses on him? I say now. Even if they have to take back bad contracts. But to an extent

175 NHL games is a big enough sample size to see that he isn't currently an NHL player. Sad to say, but maybe after 200+ AHL games, maybe he can peak as a Tom Pyatt type player. Maybe.
