Yup, nobody saw a guy who tallied 50 or more assists in a season 6 times being in contention for the scoring race. Insightful. - tomburton99
You're sarcasm is lame, unwarranted and annoying. If you have nothing to contribute....
I mean, if you can find me one person who even predicted Backstrom would be in the Top Ten in scoring, I'll eat my hat. Otherwise, you've just made the worst comment in hockeybuzz history. Congrats. |

Burns 4 points back is more impressive to me. I think Orr was the last defenseman to win the Art Ross? |

I agree it's more impressive, but I don't believe it's more surprising. |

You're talking about a guy that 702 points in 708 NHL games, on the best Capitals team they've ever had. Don't act like this is a surprise. He's one of the best play-making centers in the world. |

I agree that Nick Backstrom being underrated is one of the stupidest things about the NHL, but if you don't agree that he is, I don't think you pay attention at all to the league. |

Actually his sarcasm was well warranted. Backstrom finished 16th in 12/13, 11th in 13/14, 6th in 14/15, and 17th in 15/16. He also plays on a stacked team, so any prediction of Backstrom finishing in the top ten in scoring isn't a stretch at all.
Saying he made the worst comment in hockeybuzz history, is what is actually lame. Also, please leave the politics out of it. Your comments towards the President of the United States are unwarranted and insulting, and uninformed. If the opening sentence on a hockey blog is political, there is an issue. |

You try to act like you're smart by insinuating you know more than most. Nick Backstrom is one of the best players in the NHL. Since he entered the league, He's 6th in in points. |

This is so stupid, the entire reason I am playing this is a surprise is because = as any Caps fan will tel you - he is ridiculously underrated.
We all know how to properly rate him, but you're taking the trolling to a whole new level of stupidity here. You're basically proving my point for me. - James_Tanner
Or you're just out of touch with reality and don't actually watch hockey? |

Washington is really good - I still don't they come out of the east - that style just won't fly in the playoffs - and I don't think they are better than the Pens in a 7 game series - Ill take Crosby / Malkin over Ovi / Backstrom
and Murray over Holtby -
The Ducks didn't even play the 1st period last night and then took it to them for the most part the rest of the game - while getting hosed from refs - to come back from 3 down on the road w/ chance to win w/ 4 minutes left - only to lose on the softest goal all game against JG - that doesn't spell cup champ to me - |

No, your point was was that Nick Backstrom need more recongintion. He's a great play making center, the reason for his lack of individual achievement is because of the likes of Ovie, Kane, Crosby and Malkin. |

Elie scorers, solid defensemen and an elite goalie. Teams like that never make a cup final, right? |

If they fail (again) in the playoffs, it certainly has nothing to do with a "style". |
