not sure I'd have vermette or arvedson in there......I feel like there are better options.

gonchar
Hoffman
daigle ( I know he was a horrible bust but was still a better and more productive player than those 2)

that being said, considering the relative youth of the organization that's not a bad list

I might have given a shout out to someone from the 'original' roster like Turgeon or Maciver, but overall the list is pretty good. If Duchene made the list for scoring the goal that sent them to the playoffs for the first time, perhaps McGrattan should have gotten consideration for breaking Domi's nose.

Eklund appears to be suggesting that Ottawa is making inquiries about Iginla... which I'm sure would involve Colorado eating a lot of contract, and require Iginla to waive his NMC. Personally, I don't mind the idea, but I know a lot of people have broadly concluded that veterans are a colossal waste of time.

Of course, this also feels like one of the times that Eklund has put a rumour together about as randomly as a Clue accusation. My 'source' Colonel Mustard said that... Ottawa... wants to trade for... Iginla... in the... conservatory... with the... revolver.

I would have Methot over Vermette... but at the bottom of that list there isn't much separation.

How is Volchenkov only 20th?!? Most underrated D the team ever had!

Wasn't sure if the list was about players when they were on Ottawa's roster or the best 25 to ever wear a Sens jersey?

If it's the latter, there's a few guys out there who may have been better additions (Peter Bondra, Joe Juneau, Igor Kravchuk, Tom Barasso, Cory Stillman, Dominek Hasek???! Why the hell wasn't he on there? Even when with the Sens at his age he was one of the best goalies we ever had on our roster).

I personally felt that Hossa should be #1 given all his accomplishments both individually and for teams he played for (500 goals, just as many points as Alfie, most Stanley Cups won of any player in our history, 8 30+ goal seasons, etc.), but that's just me.

getting iginla would be a waste of assets for Ottawa.....unless that asset was like a 3rd rd pick and the avs ate salary.

he isn't the guy that would bring this team to the next level, and they wouldn't re-sign him so what's the point. he's the kind of guy that would help a team like pitt, wash, or Chicago......a team who's right there and just needs some bottom six help to round out their depth. Ottawa needs a young, in his prime, top six winger.....that's not iginla.

the list was greatest when they were sens players or else a lot of the guys you mentioned would have been on the list.

Agreed. The McGrattan-Domi fight marked the end of Leafs using physical intimidation as a key strategy against the Senators. One of my favourite moments ever.

Bit of a meh effort from the Sens last night imo.

They need to have much better effort in order to stay in the hunt for the playoffs. Hoffman has looked like complete dogpoop in the past few games.

Agreed f they were playing a more confident team last night they would have lost. But a win regardless and hopefully their confidence starts to build again.

Yes there has been a few players that have looked like AHL material for some games now.I am hopeful it will all come together, mind you the last few years have left us Sens fans fragile as to what this team is and a few bad games brings it all too quickly back

List was a bit of a gong show in parts. Not sure how Chris Kelly nabs a spot.

The majority of the list was about the top 25 players and what they did for this team. Hence Chris Neil's placement.

Hopefully when they make a list during the 30th anniversary, they quit with the "good guy" spots. Vermette did Richard all while he was here. It's why he was traded.

I would challenge a lot of franchises to try and equal the top 10 the Sens had in the same 25 year span. It's quite impressive. Too bad we couldn't win anything with any of those guys.
