Contending teams that are in cap hell, have to be careful with Vrbata. His bonuses are all playoff bonuses. 500K just for making it. So that will carry over to the cap next year. |

Your accuracy rate is trending in the right direction. You took a bit of a pounding on the AZ rink bit, but it turns out that you were more accurate than others. Satisfying, no? |

I'd take him. Could be a good partner with TJ Brodie. Or Stone. |

Stone, Hanzal, and Vrbata are definitely gone. Schenn a solid possibility to go too unless he can be resigned to another cheap deal.
Smith and Doan highly unlikely, especially Smith. Murphy going nowhere.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are not proof that all you need to do with talented rookies is "play them". Has to be the stupidest thing you've ever written, and that's saying a lot. You're ignoring so many intangibles making such a statement.
For starters, they have the best coach in hockey. Secondly, having a generational talent like Auston Matthews helps quite a bit also.
The Coyotes would not be a playoff team right now if Dylan Strome and Clayton Keller weren't in Junior/NCAA, which is essentially what you're getting at.

Contending teams in bonus trouble already like chicago aren't a fit.
Many teams have some cap room. Even if not, most teams will be happy to deal with a penalty related to a long playoff run

could they find anyone worse to cover this team???? |

Somewhat.
I've also been right about the Oilers, playing young players, the Leafs like ten times........I'm pretty astute, but I always go against the mainstream thinking on a topic and people get angry....but they forget later that I am always right.
Except all the times I'm wrong, which is also very many.
I guess you could say I'm just a regular person who is sometimes right and sometimes wrong, but just better looking than most. |

Not to mention that if the Coyotes are moving out salary they can take it back too. |

Funny, that's exactly what I've been taking from your articles. Well, minus the better looking part.

Except sosh and brown are 23, hyman is 24, Zaitsev is 25 , Nylander was 2 years before full time nhl and Marner given 1.
So what the leafs did is not really anything like what you're proposing for the yotes. |

In a smith trade going to Nashville, the coyotes would have to take renne back. Would you be ready for this? |

It would only help the Coyotes with their goal to secure the #1 draftpick, so I'd be OK with that. |

Rookie is a rookie dude. Don't go getting all technical like you actually have a point to make. The Leafs have 8-10 rookies in the lineup on any given night, and the Coytoes could do the same thing - though luckily they'll have staggared things a bit better than Toronto. They also won't have an Auston Matthews, so I'm not saying they'll have the same success.
I'm just saying that it may be that the NHL's obsession with age and experience is evolving a bit. |

Great shot. Good on the PP. Not very good 5v5. Still could get better , didn't build very well on a decent year last season. |

His disappointing play early in the season largely related to his recovery from a knee injury/surgery that negatively impacted his ability to properly train this off season.
He's improved as season has progressed but hasn't been worth his $4M salary and as a UFa the franchise is preparing for life afterrds with DeAngelo and Woods developing on farm.
His shot and size are primary assets. |
