Boucher will have the reigns in on a few players tonight. It's a good idea to go with the 7 D tonight. Maybe that way they can tighten things up on the back end and get the shots on goal below 30. |

Any thoughts on Duchene? Apparently the asking price is high but the Avs are in need of D.
I think at least a starting point could be Ceci, Dzingle and a first and see where the conversation goes from there.
We have Chabot and he is going to be awesome and Duchene is a #1C that could get Hoffman to 40+ goals and Ryan back to 30+ goals and we can put Turris as the #2C where he really thrives on a line with Stone and work the rest of the line up from there.
I know I have said it before but I so think it would be an investment that would pay off against teams like Washington, Chicago and the Pens, especially in the playoffs |

I would do this trade, however I am not sure how bang on it is with value. What I would do is offer Ceci and Brown/White plus a first and add a second if need be. Then I would trade Lazar + Brown/White for a top 4 D next year. In my opinion with Duchene, Turris and Pageau as top 3 C, they should be good for years to come.

I would put Brown in there. not White or Chabot, imo I think they are some bigger name future prospects for us.
I think if we got Duchene, all we would really have to worry about is getting a #2LW (which as of right now we have quite a few options on the team already). But I think this deal would certainly have our C's set for a while and make us very competitive |

Yes I completely agree about not giving up Chabot. You can never have too many good D. Defence wins championships, offence comes naturally in my opinion. Which is why I see Brown and White expendable for the near future. |

Bobby Ryan had some good shifts in the first period. Hopefully he builds on it
I remember Lazar playing lots of PK his first two years. Barely any this year and even Wingels is getting time now. |

You should stop thinking about this cause the Sens will never trade for Duchene EVER!!
Dorion will never sacrifice half of our future for one good player. I wouldn't either...
We are better of developing our prospect and go from there. Even with Duchene in the line up we would not be cup contenders anyways. |

Great bounce back win from the Sens last night.
If this team sticks to #TheSystem they have shown that they can beat any team in the league.
Mark Stone is an absolute monster. Just a perfect two way forward who is criminally underrated imo.
I wouldn't mortgage the teams future for Duchene. He's a great forward but the Sens have a solid core and will hopefully be adding two impactful players in Chabot and White very soon (Chlapik as well.) They better stay far far away from Landeskog. Hasn't been the same since his last concussion.
Still can't believe this team is doing this well with a backup carrying the bulk of the starts. |

I agree with this, it makes no sense to mortgage half our prospects for a guy who, let's be honest, isn't that much of an upgrade over what who we currently have.
I'm not saying Duchene isn't better than turris and brassard, but I don't think he's SO MUCH better that it warrants trading our best prospects to get him.
the most I'd offer is ceci, chaplik, and a 1st.......obviously the avs wouldn't take that, but I don't think it's worth it for Ottawa to give up more. turris and brassard are both still under 30, we have brown and white coming up, we're fine at center.
now, if we're talking about landeskog...........then I'd be willing to look at giving up more. |

I would trade for Landeskog before Duchene. But he hasn't been the same since his last concussion. On the other hand, playing another team might help him lol

he's had 3 straight seasons of 20+ goals and 50+ points....on pace for that again this year too. he'd slot in nicely to that 2nd line LW spot....
landeskog - turris - ryan
Hoffman - brass - stone
dzingel - pageau - smith
that's a damn solid top 9 |

those are 3 solid lines, all of which can both score and shut other lines down. |

I'm sure they'd want Chabot..........but that should be a non-starter IMO
maybe ceci, brown/white, 1st 2017, 2nd 2018
not sure that would get it done but who knows..........our forwards would be as I mentioned before, our d would be
ek - meth
phaneuf - wideman (who's better than ceci anyways)
claessen - boro
would still hope they could make another move to upgrade boro but other than that I like that D........give Chabot a year in the AHL and then bring him up, englund is also probably close to being NHL ready. |
