Not gonna be easy. The advantage is of course Toronto and Ottawa will be tired at the end whereas the Bruins have an easier sched coming up. Let's just hope for the best and that Sweeney doesn't sell away the prospects for 2 playoff home games.

If they make the playoffs. Right now you would most likely match up with Toronto or Ottawa.

Your going to see more than 2 home games.... and i dont know about you but i want to watch Bruins playoff hockey regardless. There is nothing more exciting in sports.
Obviously i dont want to sell the farm but the goal every year should be playoffs.

From what I've gathered, he's actually been more of a voice of reason. Believes in Julien in the sense that he's not going to call for his head if he doesn't think there's a viable replacement option out there.

well thats good to know, my thoughts were more directed towards giving up more young assets like Carlo and MacAvoy for help making it to the 1st round of the playoffs for the revenue. Would be so short sighted imo.

Jimmy murphy tweeted that the bruins will be addressing the coaching situation tomorrow, win or lose. Timing is strange, if they know they are firing him, why wait? And if they're keeping him around, why make an announcement?!

It'd be nice to hear from the GM/Pres, who have not spoken to the media since media day. It's part of their job to shut these sorta things down or provide clarity, whether they like it or not. Chiarelli was very good at this and it helped the room.

just asking, why fire Julien? Or maybe just a new voice is needed?

Only shot they have at beating the Pens is Brady playing the 1st period.

I think Neely & Sweeney have even found a way to F&*^ up firing a coach

Because the Boston sports media are a bunch of poop disturbing hacks who are desperate for a story (present company excluded lol).

Here's the headline for the season

"Team in transition lacks depth to play consistent hockey"

The core is strong, the defense is a top 4 guy from being solid. It's the fact that we're relying on Riley Nash, Tim Schaller and other plugs to play regular middle 6 minutes and produce when they're simply not capable.

If this team had the same core, goalie and defense but had the ole Kelly Pev Ryder 3rd line, they'd be battling for the division lead

Edit: Also backup goaltending would help

Neely, Sweeney and the Jacobs family need to GTFO. Julien isnt the problem. The "vision" of the team is the problem.

Management cant execute forming a better team, and are trying desperately to hold on to as much of 2011 as possible. Time for change. Time to update to the new nhl. Tonights performance is just another example that this team is going absolutely nowhere on their present course.

Bring in competent management, sell off the vets, develop the kids. Really sick of watching the same pathetic, uninspired hockey night in and night out and maybe getting one good game out of every ten.

I don't know man... why is Claude completely let off the hook? I think after 3 seasons of lackluster play, he should certainly shoulder some of the blame? I think you need to try a change behind the bench before you go and totally clean out upper management.

I just look at the Pens last year, and the impact that Mike Sullivan had on the team. The game has moved drastically in a more offensive direction, and everyone knows Claude is a defense first coach... maybe getting a more offensive minded coach behind the bench could help this team.

Not letting him completely off the hook, just dont think he is the biggest issue. And who will replace him? Until we know we are getting a halfway decent coach, I am reluctant to just say "let sacco have the team".

Management also needs to ice a hockey team that doesnt suffer the same defensive blemishes every year. Its time for wholesale change, and I would start with the tippy top of the organization and work my way down.

What are they, like second in shots for and second in shots against (Per Game)?

There does not seem to be a jump out issue on the team. Now that Jimmy Hayes is benched, things have gotten better. I think that the lines need to be re-evaluated, and the bounces will go in favour. I think Spooner has upped his game and almost everyone is playing up to par.

Marchand Bergeron Vatrano
Backes Krejci Pasta
Belesky Spooner Czarnik
Schaller Moore Nash

I understand Julien, but I think these are three well-balanced lines which each have speed, grit, defense liability, a scorer and a playmaking center, And a 4th line that is pretty much all grit energy and good two way play.

I just really want C. Miller back in but am afraid he won't be played over Morrow.

I guess we will just have to take the same 'wait and see' approach. Just like the last two years. Then at the deadline overpay for spare parts in the hopes that we can sneak in.

I know what your saying, however trying to compare this to a Pens Team that had Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang, Kunitz, Schultz etc..etc.. is pretty far fetched
This Team does not have the One Ice Talent to go anywhere
