They do not look like a very good team. I think they can hold on and make playoffs. But, hard to see this team as being able to do anything in playoffs. Way too soft! Not sure Price makes a difference when he returns.

Montreal fools teams first time around with their tiny tic tac toe passing. But it is just a one trick pony. Second time around other teams have them figured out. Boston made them look like a pop gun offence, can't play big enough. Just a tiny team without a huge enough character to play a big enough game second time around . They are down to 7th in power rankings and dropping like a stone.

They looked really lost tonight. I think we are seeing the beginnings of a complete collapse.

Will it make any difference to their confidence when Price returns. Goaltending has actually been okay during the losing streak. Biggest problem is they are designed and coached as a first half of the season team. Second half of season is more grinding, bigger emphasis on defense and teams will not just open it up and exchange chances at both ends of the ice. As soon as teams begin to plug up the middle Montreal has great trouble getting through the neutral zone and we are beginning to see the problem unfold even sooner than expected this year.

I fear it is going to get a lot worse.

If you were the leafs GM, and you won the Lottery.......... would it be Auston Matthews or Jakob Chychrun ............ or would you trade the pick at the draft for something else?

Wait until after World juniors before getting serious about deciding on top choice. But never deal the pick. Not for Stamkos or Kessel.

With each day passing, the likelihood of Stamkos becoming an UFA get greater and greater .............. so toronto will not need to trade for him, just increase ticket prices for next season, and sign him on July 1st.
